11.4 Million of Hillary Clinton's Dollars Can't Be Wrong
Turns out Hillary Clinton has now invested $11.4 million of her personal money into her campaign…
A campaign aide says Hillary Rodham Clinton lent herself $6.4 million in the past month… The loan more than doubles Clinton's personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year.
But you know, that's not really that big a deal. I mean, $11.4 million isn't that much money, is it? Well, it's more than I — and everybody I know combined — will ever see, let alone spend.
She could still decide to cut her considerable losses and not lose any more money, right?
But even as Obama planned to take the day off from the campaign trail Wednesday, Clinton showed no public signs of easing her pace. The campaign added a noon Wednesday appearance in Shepherdstown, W. Va., to her schedule. On Thursday, she planned to campaign in West Virginia, South Dakota and Oregon.
Clinton backers appeared on early morning television programs to stress that she was still in the race and to urge party leaders and elected officials known as superdelegates not to flee to Obama.
"This candidacy and this campaign continues on," Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson said Wednesday on CNN.
Oh.
But, she's got to throw in the towel sometime before November, right?
Right?

Just to make my last comment clear, I don't think Clinton should drop out before the end of the primary voting, necessarily. I just think she should replace her current strategy of attack-pander-overspend with something more beneficial to the Democratic Party on the whole. Namely, buying it off with *literal* gas money, rather than that loser of a "gas tax holiday." I'm sure all of Obama's supporters will have been happy to have not-voted for her in a most not-hateful way for a little green. And maybe he could kick in, too? You know, for the unity.
Pundits to Hillary: It's over!
The Times Jim Rutenberg, once again on the media/ advertising beat this past week, has a roundup of pundits telling Hillary that it's time to go. Here are some highlights.
NBC's Tim Russert: “We now know who the Democratic nominee’s going to be, and no one’s going to dispute it." (Video)
Fox's Chris Wallace to Karl Rove: “I think there’s an increasing presumption tonight that Obama’s going to be the nominee."
David Gergen, on CNN: “I think the Clinton people know the game is almost up.”
CBS's Bob Schieffer: “[T]his race is over.”
ABC's George Stephanopoulos: “This nomination fight is over.”

Hillary gave a great speech last night. I think it was the beginning of an attempt to unite the party & concede the election. The beginning of the end in real time. She's not going to just drop off the end of the earth after such a long & grueling campaign season. She will let her supporters down slowly & easily in an effort to maintain dignity in the Democratic Party. So back off, people. You'll all get your wish list probably by the end of May. There will still be plenty of time for celebration & shoveling dirt on her…you'll be able to party all summer!
Don't be mad, mad maggie. It's madness, I know. The process should be allowed to continue until all states have voted in the primary – IF… IF Hillary's team agrees to no further slander AND gives up the fight on wayward Fla and Mich. The trouble with Hillary being pure evil is that it makes unity a little challenging for Dems, even if we have all summer to kiss and make up.
I like Mad Maggie's plan. Especially after I went to the drug store and saw that they were all sold out of pander cesation patches. I'm not sure I could have gone from hearing her crazy talk to cold turkey overnight. Please please please Hillary let us down easy.
Problem with getting support from Operation Chaos people is that they'll vote for you in the primary but won't donate to your campaign. If Slimebaugh had only encouraged his listeners to send money to Hillary she'd be doing ok. It does explain why Clinton was getting votes but no money.
I hope Maggie is right. Ok Hillary, time to impress us with your ability to unite Americans.
Hillary is sticking to the old saying, "If you love something let it go, if it comes back it is yours. If it doesn't it never was."
I would love Hillary to explain the "Clintons" relationship with Rev. Wright. He was at the White house when Bill was President. There are pictures of them shaking hands with the President at the White House?
Not just anyone gets invited to a White House breakfast where they can shake the hand of the President. These events are carefully engineered to curry favor with people politicos think can help them.
Hillary may not have chosen Wright to be her pastor, yet her husband chose to cultivate a relationship with Rev. Wright during his presidency. This fact seems to have vanished from Hillary's memory as she delivered her recent round of sound bites, criticizing Obama for his past relationship to Wright.
Time to take the mask off.
