As a Paul supporter I can vouch that when otherwise normal people gain a better understanding of how their currency is being devalued they can act out in very strange ways. Don't worry, we will keep up the fight to clean up the Republican party. I can't wait for the Daily Show to cover the Republican national convention. Main ticket: "Cactus" John McCain vs Dr. "Know" Ron Paul. It should be quite the battle royal. McCain will probably win, but it won't be by knockout, and he will get the verbal lashing of his life.
