Scott McClellan Squeezes a Little More Profit Out of Iraq
Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's new book "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception" will be published next week.
And — because he joins the growing group of people (George Tenet, Colin Powell, etc.) who were complicit with the Bush administration leading up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq but are now critical after the fact — a lot of people are pretending like it's a big deal.
Among the "most explosive revelations" in the book are…
* McClellan charges that Bush relied on "propaganda" to sell the war.
* He says the White House press corps was too easy on the administration during the run-up to the war.
* He admits that some of his own assertions from the briefing room podium turned out to be "badly misguided."
So, in other words, there are no revelations in the book.

The beef will be in Olbermann's mouth. He's gonna suck hissausage for all it's worth and get a mouthful of special sauce — for his special comment. Like a very special episode of Different Strokes. Where the Maytag guy diddled Dudley. "Someone touched me Mr. Drummond."
my security code is KERY. crap.
Yeah well I'll be happy when I see him testify before congress.
What's the beef, kia? He's doing the Democrats a favour. Nothing like a good, internal soul audit to clear up the putrid air surrounding Bush and cronies, et al.
McLovin with pants down. Olbermann on knees. Next on Countdown.
Yeah, but its too bad he didn't add, "and I made sure nobody was looking while Bush did it. But don't put any blame on me, I just worked there."
Yes, Bush "veered TERRIBLY OFF course" — Scott McClellan's own words –, and the country is NOW paying the TERRIBLE prize for it. SHAMEFUL.
McClellan at least had the integrity to come forth and admit what most Americans already knew about Bush & his GOP. I'm not surprised at all to hear about this Bush, Cheney , Rove & GOP corruption that has screwed over this nation for the last 7 years. Also…it will come as no surprise that the White House’s only response to the book will be to take cheap shots that accuse McClellan of being disgruntled or disingenuous. Since they have no moral compass or integrity to stand on…and since the record of Republican corruption and treachery against the USA these last 7 years speaks for itself…they really do not have a leg to stand on in their defense against the content in McClellan's book. If Dana Perino and others loyal only to the Bush Crime Family & the Republican Party had any sense, they would simply keep their mouths shut and quit accusing McClellan of being a disgruntled person. The more you complain about McClellan’s book, the more obvious you make your own sins against the USA.
McClellan, that smarmy little fuck. So stupid that he couldn't tell he was being lied to by his bosses? Bullshit, he knew what he was doing and if you remember him in those press conferences… he enjoyed it. He's got blood on his hands and he's gonna cash in like the rest of them.
