Jimmy Carter Thinks Obama/Clinton Ticket Would Be Wrong
Although former peanut farmer Jimmy Carter endorsed Barack Obama for president yesterday, he's not so keen on the idea of supposed dream ticket…
"I think it would be the worst mistake that could be made," said Carter. "That would just accumulate the negative aspects of both candidates"…
In terms that might discomfort the Obama camp, he said: "If you take that 50% who just don't want to vote for Clinton and add it to whatever element there might be who don't think Obama is white enough or old enough or experienced enough or because he's got a middle name that sounds Arab, you could have the worst of both worlds."
Well, I think we've got to put this in perspective. Jimmy Carter's a nice guy, but he is an old southern dude. And old southern dudes are very rarely in favor of seeing a black guy on top of a white woman.
I think he'd feel better about a John McCain/Condoleezza Rice ticket. That's much more common where he's from.

Change Depends on McCain !!
(I think they are full)
Obama/Hillary ticket might look good, but does anyone think that Obama could get Hillary to STFU for just a second? And Bill will be roaming the halls for interns.
Jimmy knows … listen to the Jimmy…
I agree, Obama/Clinton is a bad idea.
The idea of an Obama/Clinton ticket would be hideous. Every Clinton smear of Obama would be trotted out by McCain and Obama invited to argue with his deputy. Bill would probably take a perverse pleasure in causing mayhem, since if Obama lost Clinton would be on for 2012.
Obama ran against 'the beltway' and having a member on the dynasty on the team would undermine that claim. How can you be for change with two Clintons in tow?
People don't vote for a President because they like the VP anyway, and if they did, a lot just don't like Hillary. The VP is supposed to be a competent person who appeals to a consitituency you need. Obama is from the city and the north, so he probably needs someone who is from the south, popular, non-nonsense, maybe a governor and connects with rural people. But Clinton? Imagine the extras from the deliverance movie rubbing shoulder with extras from "Beaches". Can someone called Cleetus pronounce that with out getting slapped?
If Obama's pitching to mend fences with the sisterhood he could do worse than Sebelius of course. In the end though, will any genuine feminist vote for someone who wants to overturn Roe V Wade and continue blocking US aid to organisations that provide abortions? It's hard to imagine. So Obama probably needs Hispanics and southerners more than he needs women.
Then again, it's hard to imagine many will vote Republican this year. They are in tatters. 70% say the country is headed in the wrong direction and McCain is the heir to that. The economy is tanking and McCain has no policy to deal with that. McCain talks about a 100-year occupation of Iraq — an occupation that is costing about 10 billion and 15 dead Americans each month. Some Republican said that if there brand were dogfood it would be taken off the shelves. The first debate with Obama, and McCain will look like chopped liver.

Watcha gonna do if it's like that? Vote McCain? The odds. It doesn't matter if you are right.
BTW, the only thing left to smear on Clinton is some peanut butter to satisfy the PETA folks. They are pro sex for dogs right?
Carter is the guy who said he was attacked by a killer rabbit while he was in a boat… I'm not sure I'd take Mr. Peanut's advice as something so marvelous to heed.
Having said that, I am undecided if I think it's a good thing to take Hillary on as VP or not. She said a lot of slanderous things against Obama and her website even put up a picture to make people think Obama was Muslim to garner votes and a lot of her 50+ aged white voters believed it and still use the word 'colored' to describe blacks and fear what he will do.
I ponder if those actions she did which were really at times rather brutal wouldn't make it so McCain could easily just use her statements against her but at the same time she could always just say she 'saw the light' and changed her mind after getting to know Obama, so it could work but at the same time, she'd have to actually think through what she and Bill say this time around.
Dear Hilary,
Nobody likes a quitter!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, Sgt. Pepper convinced me that the dream ticket is what we need. And I remember Carter's own judgment back in the day, which was the opposite of what should have been done. His input is dubious at best. I'd trust an 8 ball's over his.
