Election Day

We know that November 3, 2009 isn't a real Election Day. But still, we can all pretend. Right? Take a look at these six elections and let us know how much you care.

John McCain Staffer Has a Dream… That We'll All Get Blown Up

POSTED BY: CubbyChaser

Charlie Black — strategist for John McCain and unashamed lobbyist — was just kinda shootin' the shit about how it might be cool for Republicans if U.S. suffered another traumatic terrorist attack before November…

On national security McCain wins. We saw how that might play out early in the campaign, when one good scare, one timely reminder of the chaos lurking in the world, probably saved McCain in New Hampshire, a state he had to win to save his candidacy — this according to McCain's chief strategist, Charlie Black.

The assassination of Benazir Bhutto in December was an "unfortunate event," says Black. "But his knowledge and ability to talk about it reemphasized that this is the guy who's ready to be Commander-in-Chief. And it helped us."

As would, Black concedes with startling candor after we raise the issue, another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. "Certainly it would be a big advantage to him," says Black.

Well, maybe we'll get lucky and have something really important blow up in a super liberal city. Like San Francisco. That way, McCain won't loose too many voters in the fiery explosion.

  2. Why do you need to explode anything in order to win? Why can't he just prove that he is worth the title of PResident, that he can honor the merit?? All this added paranoia and spreading of fear is just food for media frenzy. And Bhutto had her own problems, it didn't have much to do with American elections. In fact, she returned with good faith of American support behind her but she had also made a lot of mistakes in the past that the Pakistanis weren't ready to forgive. Anyway, Obama has a good grasp of international politics and is more capable of understanding that the world's opinion of America is changing and something must be done fast.

  3. If Sen. McCain has to get all his news from the Internet, instead of the Pentagon, then speaking of assassinations using Internet sources through Charlie Black is using 4th party info, instead of 1st. What twits they both are.

  4. Of course, because the average American knows who Benazir Bhutto was. I mean, who isn’t a nut for Pakistani Politics.
