GOP Believes Hurricane Gustav Can Help
As hurricane Gustav prepares to touch down on the Gulf coast to gently remind people not to build on flood plains, a senior GOP congressman believes the government's response to the hurricane could provide a windfall (couldn't be helped) of support to the Republicans.
"If it does work out well, it will probably be a small plus for us," said New York Rep. Peter King, top Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee.
This indeed reinforces the GOP's new theme, in which the party can say "We can learn from our mistakes after botching the response to a disaster that ruined thousands of lives."
Some slogans for this new message might be "At least we didn't invade Syria"; "We fucking nailed Gustav", and "What Avian Flu Pandemic?"

They are wagging the dog on this one folks
McCain MSM and the GOP do not want all of America to see the anti-McCain support there that would burst out spontaneously to the detriment of "party unity". It would make the neocon/GOP appear to be hated by their own party members…can't have that, nothing to see here folks move along.

The GOP is floundering right now and scared. Go ahead cancel the convention have a phone in vote do whatever your soulless little black crooked hearts want to but know this: you pull this garbage and the glove are off and you had better prepare to lose at every front until you are done with because we will fight this charade with every tool available until you give up your last breath. Your fraudulent party death knell is ringing as we speak.

Well, they also have a more immediate problem. Legally, the Republicans' own bylaws require that the candidate be nominated at convention. Even though we (think, my edit) know the outcome already, the actual act of voting in convention has to take place, by law. Otherwise, legally, McCain can't be considered the nominee of his party.

Delegates Revolt For Freedom !!!
Am I missing something? I don't get it. They're not actually serious about a hurricane affecting the RNC in Minnesota. Do they have a map?
In other news…three storms converged on Phoenix last night.
