I'm afraid that McCain will die and Palin will become President. Isn't anyone in this country scared about that? I think 72 is too old to lead the country. Example my mother was as smart and brite as anyone, now her decisions are questionable. "72" is too old and no one to back John up except Sara.... god help us!

I totally and completely agree with Caligrrrrl.

The Prophet: are you kidding us? I am pro-choice, and I have chosen, each and every time I have been pregnant, to give birth. This is a choice for a woman to make. And any choice she makes is between her and God. Not between, her, God, and the government. Thank you very much anyway, though.

Are you seriously kidding me that you would vote for McCain simply because he is in favor of taking away women's right to choose? Because, seriously, there are A LOT more moral issues on the table. If you take a look at all of the issues, you might be enlightened. If you look at the catastrophic results of electing Bush Jr. (by the way he didn't overturn RoeVWade, now, did he?) So what makes you think McCain will be able to? It's never going to happen. So why don't you look at all of the other moral issues facing our country. We have many very REAL moral challenges to deal with, and lots of ugly messes to clean up. I mean, does God want us to completely destroy the earth? I think God would like us to take much better care of the earth. Shouldn't that be one of your concerns?

Those who vote for McCain spit in the face of their children, and their children's children. Nothing will change, nothing will get better. We need progress. We need to look to the future. We need to get fiscally responsible and balance our budget. OUR CITIZENS NEED HEALTH CARE (MORAL ISSUE). We need to care for our environment, or this place we call earth, is going to become a very very unpleasant place to live. We need to not go into war based on lies. We need a government that will not lie to us. We need to get rid of Politicians who cater to corporate lobbyists and special interests (such as OIL COMPANIES and PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES). If you take their money, you then owe them favors. Obama has not accepted money from corporate lobbyists or special interests, therefore, guess what? The only people he is going to owe anything to, the only ones he is going to work for when he gets into office, is US! The citizens of the United States of America! Finally, a government that will work for it's citizens. Not one who lets Big Oil make it's policy decisions. Not a government who will let Oil companies make record profits while Americans are going bankrupt, losing their homes, their jobs, their livelihoods.
I am much more for goverment who will work toward a new revolution. One that will create lots of new jobs, working toward the future. The past is gone. We can only move forward, after we realize the mistakes of the past. Much good has come from the past, but the mistakes will help us make better decisions in the future. For our future, and for the future for every generation to come. And Obama recognizes this. McCain will simply deliver more of the same. He claims that Obama's speeches are nothing more than rhetoric. But the difference is between the two of them is that Obama will deliver on what he says, because he has an obligation to us, and us alone (who have funded his campaign). McCain has an obligation to the Oil Companies, Insurance Companies, the Republican National Committee, big Republican whigs, Pharmaceutical companies, and anyone else who has contributed to his campaign with the promise of owed favors from him which will be the detriment of citizens like us.

Get a grip and realize there are many many more moral issues at stake than taking a woman's right to choose.
Our country needs to move forward. Not continue to move backward, or get stuck in the policies of GWB.

Psychos from both sides of the aisle are boring the American public to death. They can't refrain from writing a 10 paragraph manifesto every time they try to make a point in these blogs. The best way to end any argument is just say "get to the point". They can't do it.

The god of the fundamentalists is the devil to rational thought.

God is the living Principle of reality that compels us to seek Harmony and Good.

Duh.

Shake your Bible all you want. God is bigger than the Universe, and you squeeze It into a book you don't even understand.

And the Neo Con camp have a lot of nerve bringing up fear. For almost 8 years, Bush has justified putting this country into hock with China, wiretapping our phones, and skipping off to Iraq when he should have been smoking Bin Laden out of his cave in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Do they want Bin Laden around as a bogeyman, or do they want to actually go after those who attacked us on 9/11?

My cousin enlisted in the service, after 9/11. He wanted to fight our attackers, in Afghanistan. He got sent to Iraq and ended up defending oil pipelines instead. He came back with PTSD and seriously dissillusioned about our "leaders" who sent kids out there, with no body armor. McCain pretends he cares about vets, yet they come home to decrepit healthcare, and have to shove off, knowing our country practices torture. Not cool at all.

I predict it will backfire. Palin will alienate pro choice independents, as well as those who believe in the separation of church and state, McCain will be McToast, just on national security issues alone.

They killed Benazhir Bhutto, and she didn't even have a beauty pageant past or scandalous nudie pix. What sexist cronyism the McCain camp are displaying. A slap in the face to Hillary, who worked so hard, to earn all those votes.

I say, after President Obama, let's elect Hillary as our first woman pres. She deserves it more than this chick.

Excuse me? The Oil and Gas lobby is somehow now the heart of the pioneer? Please. She is a player only because she played her state, pushing the Oil and Gas lobby's agenda. I have nothing against her, personally. If McCain wants to pick a chick with no foreign policy experience, that's his call. But it will work against him, not for him. Just watch. Obama and Biden are statesmen. McCain and Palin are pushing Exxon's agenda, not America's.

A fixed market, is not a free market.

The oil pipeline was in the works long before she was around. I heard them talking about it back in 2000. Gimme a break. Nice line, nice rhetoric, but she's not what they say she is, and she would be disastrous in Pakistan.

I see alot of fear being turned up in America, just from Palin being picked for office. The truth about Palin is she is harder and tougher than the democrats put together, and she has a heart the size of Alaska. She is going to bring in oil and natural gas to the United States, and she does not have to be vice president to do that. The main point is, she hears the cries of the american people, and has stepped up to the plate. Should Obama win, he will have to deal with Palin and Alaska to help the oil and gas issue. So say what you will of Palin's Alaska, we all know they both will be in the mix to help solve that issue.
