Sarah Palin Has So Much Foreign Policy Experience, We Can't Even Explain It All
Here we have a scene that has played out, in endless variations, on several news outlets today. It is a hoarse McCain campaign spokesman, in this case Tucker Bounds (whose name, now that I type it, seems very Palin-family-esque), frantically explaining how the governor of Alaska has oodles of foreign policy experience.
In case you are too lazy to click the play button, the key talking point here is: the governor of Alaska "commands" the "Alaska National Guard," which certainly sounds impressive. Let's take a look at some press releases from the Alaska Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs, which seems to provide information about this "Alaska National Guard." I am sure we'll find plenty of important foreign policy business.
Like this:
6/23/08: Alaska Air National Guard Recognizes Cities
7/29/08: Man Falls Off Cabin, Saved By Alaska Guardsmen
Right, see, they recognized cities! They have cities in other countries. Therefore, the Alaska National Guard is prepared to go overseas and recognize foreign cities, which is a key component of foreign policy. And if people start falling off cabins in, um, Gaza, the governor of Alaska will be able to draw on her years of command experience, thereby… hmm.
Gosh, this is harder than it looks.

WARNING: Don't watch this – it's just too sad for McCain's poor little soundbite boy.
I can't speak from experience, but I think that waterboarding may be more comfortable than where Tucker is during this.
It's amazing how the Dems jump on Palin and her credentials. She is Obama in a skirt. Any argument you can make about her can be applied to him. Yet the Republicans had the good sense to make her the VP, not the President. I'm still confounded by the newest Dem catchphrase of her being one heartbeat away from the presidency. At least she has one heartbeat to wait. Barack's inexperience will be there from day one. And anyway, that's what new blood is supposed to do, bring some freshness and enthusiasm to the party. Even if it's at the cost of inexperience. It's not supposed to lead it. Maybe 8 years from now, but not now. The Dems are so desperate to be PC and nominate Barack well before he's ready, it would be laughable if it weren't so dangerous.
Please be FAIR ,Sarah Palin is not Mr.Gate or Gen…at Pentagon ! BUT she has 4,000 troops on her hand , how many troops Obama , Biden or Hillary Clinton has ???
Hillary Clinon Husband( Bill Clinton) has the "dirty sex" at the US Goverment Building Office, during woking hours ! Why she can run for President of US ??? Sarah Palin's daugther pregnancy , her husband has DWI , 22 yrs ago…then she can not be VP of USA ? Please look at what she did and she can do
Campbell Brown of CNN need to go back to Elementary school , to relearn how to be reporter or …Tucker Bounds has the anwers , as reporter when you ask , some one anwers …let the viewder or reader thing about that, why do you get mad about it ???Campbell Brown as the reporter you have to understand how to ask and be fair Do you hate Sarah Palin becuase she's more beautyfull than you , or do you thing you can run for VP of US…????
I don't know why we are all so suprised in the reporting! All mainstreet media is in Obama's pocket. You would think they would be a little smater and not so obvious thought. And the previous person was right… If Brown had asked Obama spokesperson the same they would not be able to answer and she would have left it alone!!! Come on…. you said you were from the south and that is why you referred to him as "baby" I'm from the south and we show more respect then that "sweetie"…………………….
To run as "the original maverick" when you've sold your soul and no longer do anything unless it's GOP-approved… to point fingers at your opponent claiming "he's not ready to lead" and then choose one even less ready to lead… passing over a great many others who are not only more qualified, but probably more ready to lead than McCain (Condi Rice for one), it just opens McCain up to criticism and questions. Is McCain ready to lead when he chooses somone he has met briefly only once? Are women expected to vote for him because he has a woman running mate even if that woman's politics are 180 degrees opposite their own?
Oh, and by the way, it's interesting to hear the GOP folks saying that Palin's personal life has nothing to do with what kind of job she can do. Interesting because it seems like just yesterday they were saying the exact opposite about Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton, John Kerry, and any other Democratic party member. But I guess with all the shining examples in the Republican party of people who do their jobs while living scandalously in their personal lives, they feel they have the room to talk.
I'm John McCain and I approve this message "Palin Nude Ad"
