*"Nuclear" did not appear in the text the RNC released of her speech, but astute listener Tom Music says otherwise. We'll go to the video tape when it's available…
UPDATE: The reason I was unable to find the word "nuclear" in the text the RNC released is because they did not spell it correctly. They spelled it phonetically:
Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we're going to lay more pipelines … build more new-clear plants… create jobs with clean coal… and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal, and other alternative sources.
And later:
Terrorist states are seeking new-clear weapons without delay … he wants to meet them without preconditions.
"New" and "clear" certainly have more pleasant connotations than "nuclear."

She did not say foreclosures, outsourcing jobs, 45 million people with no healthcare, John McCain voting against (or did he just not show up) extending tax credits and not supporting alternative energy, the high cost of college, Blackwater, torture, the oath to defend the Constitution, the separation of church and state, oil pollution, air pollution, the effect on Americans' health and on our environment of the unbridled energy policies she supports, Armageddon, we could go on and on.
i think they had to spell it NEW-CLEAR on the teleprompter not for the subliminal connotations but because she pronounced the word incorrectly during the VP announcement on 8/29. check out the video:
