Cindy McCain's Fiscal Policy Results in a $300,000 Outfit

POSTED BY: Mary Phillips-Sandy

Washington outsider John McCain and his wife Cindy hail from Arizona, a rough-and-tumble frontier state where red-blooded Americans stand up to elitist Northerners like Barack Obama, who has sold millions of books and not on QVC, like a normal person might do, and who jets around the world to give celebrity speeches in Europe.

But the other night Cindy McCain poked a little hole in her down-home cred by taking the RNC stage in an outfit that cost $300,000, give or take, according to the fashion experts at Vanity Fair.

I'm sure Cindy meant to wear the $45 Isaac Mizrahi for Target dress, but maybe her maid packed the wrong suitcase or grabbed the wrong bag. These things happen. Still, it was a foolish mistake that will only cast doubt on the McCains' grip of economic reality.

For example, why didn't Cindy McCain realize she could buy an eighth house with all that money?

  1. I don't know, I think she's really Dick Cheney.
I understand she interviewed Sarah Palin, just the two of them prior to John deciding to pick her. Hmmm Could this be a two for one? Hillary/Bill cough cough

  3. $300,000 is way too much for a dress that ugly.

  4. What about the saying "Don't say anything unless you can say something good?" I think she looked like a contempary Jackie O ande ooozed class. Considering where and how much OBAMA and the wife live, how much you wanna bet how much SHE spent on her attire???

  5. Kristi, it looks like a raincoat. It's hideous.

And I didn't much like Michelle Obama's outfit either, and if she paid that much for it, she was ripped off two.

Whatever happened to a nice pants suit?

  6. urgh, ripped off *too*

can you guys get me an "edit comment" function??

  7. To pay that much money for 1 dress is a shame. Why not use that money to help someone save their mortgage instead? Proof once more how out of touch these elites really are!

  8. Seems money can buy a really ugly Star Trek outfit, but apparently not simple logic and common sense. Cindy has repeated the assertion that Sarah has foreign affairs experience because she lives next to Russia and Canada ….

  9. Anyone have a link to the picture with Cindy in the yellow coat along with the old Star Trek cast? That was hillarious. Colbert's show cracks me up.
