Oh Lawdy, Those "Uppity" Obamas Sure Do Distress Lynn Westmoreland
Yesterday Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) took a break from sippin' lemonade on his front porch to jaw a spell with some pencil-pushin' pals, and soon enough talk turned to them current events…
Westmoreland was discussing vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's speech with reporters outside the House chamber and was asked to compare her with Michelle Obama.
"Just from what little I've seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity," Westmoreland said.
Asked to clarify that he used the word "uppity," Westmoreland said, "Uppity, yeah."
Yessir, that's what he said. Uppity. U-p-p-i-t-y. Goodness gracious, don't these reporters know you never question the word of a Southern Gentleman?

How dare those black people go to Harvard !!!! UPPITY INDEED !
Dems would be wise to let this kind of thing just lay. The republikkans would love nothing more than to be able to claim that Obama is playing the race card. Ignore it I say.
"Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference." – Mark Twain
Westmoreland would probably prefer that Senator Obama campaign in a starched white jacket buttoned up to the neck, with a linen towel draped over his forearm.
So now we're back to "uppity negroes" not staying in their place. How insulting. Also it is embarassing for the people he represents. I
What is "a member of an elitist-class individual"? Would that be an arm or leg?
