Sarah Palin's Undergraduate Odyssey
I really wanted to not write about Sarah Palin today, but my God I just can't help myself. The latest news is that Palin apparently had a somewhat non-traditional college experience. As in, she transferred schools six times…
1. Palin matriculates as a freshman at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She drops out "after a few weeks because of the constant rain there."
2. Palin enrolls at Hawaii Pacific University, a private college in Honolulu, as a Business Administration major. She leaves after a semester.
3. Palin transfers to North Idaho College, a Coeur d'Alene community college. She completes two semesters as a General Studies Major.
4. Palin transfers to the University of Idaho as a sophomore, in the Journalism program
5. Palin transfers to to Matanuska-Susitna College in Alaska and completes one semesters.
6. Palin heads back to the University of Idaho for three more semesters and graduates with a degree in Journalism.
Now, a lot of Americans may be able to identify with Palin's undergraduate odyssey – but not her running mate, John McCain. McCain only attended one college, the United States Naval Academy. But maybe he should have considered transferring – ideally to a school where he wouldn't have finished #894 out of the 899 graduates in his class!

DO NOT SPEAK ON A THEORY WITHOUT FACTS TO BACK IT!! otherwise you are worthless and your opionons have no standing. even with multiple schools as I also have multiple schools she still has more experience then Obama. People DO NOT redicule a man for graduating last in his class. For crying out loud first of all what college did you graduate from ?? Was it a top college ?? I doubt it !! Have you sacrificed anything for anyone !!?????? Not including family !! have you sacrificed your life for a cause or for integrity ????????? I doubt it? you may disagree with Mcain but if you speak bad about the man for what he has done non political you are a joke and you have nothing to debate about , all you can do is talk bad about a man who gave everything for 6 years and I bet you havnt given anything to anybodey and probaly have no integrity….. She has "experience" and she is "conservative". Please elaborate. Her unusual path to a degree may not be uncommon for some of us but you and I are NOT running for Vice President of the United States of America. Scrutiny of her less than ideal education for a potential POTUS is certainly fair game.
Your grammar and spelling mistakes certainly make it clear that your education was less than stellar.

I'm a woman. A former Hillary delegate. A Navy veteran. I will be voting for Barack. He's thoughtful, intelligent, educated, and committed to helping people.
To the person, or persons, responsible for posting the Republican, nearly all caps locked, anti-Jill letter. You seem to be a true advocate for the GOP! You act identical to the party you affiliate with, giving no facts for your own party and presuming that McCain’s honorable service record entitles him to be President. Don't get me wrong, John McCain deserves to be recognized, and he has with a Purple Heart, but he is not owed the Presidency.
With that said, here are some facts to digest.
Obama: Graduated top of his class from both Columbia and Harvard Law. He was recognized with highest honors from both.
McCain: Graduated in the lowest .6% (note the point in front of the six, it's not a typo) of his class by finishing 894 out of 899. That is where his education stops and his devotion to the service for the United States starts. (Possibly another George Bush??)
Palin: Graduated after 6 years with records from 4 (possibly more) schools. She never attended graduate school.
Here, let me be blunt and use "straight talk" so you understand exactly what I mean.
You would need more education to become a 2nd grade teacher, than you would to become the Vice President, a possible heartbeat away from being the President of the United States of America.
I personally think it would be sad to be a 24 year old teacher with more education than the Vice President, but then again, maybe that is just me.

Sarah Palin's favorabilty ratings now exceed McCains AND OBAMAS
No matter if McCain was #1 in his class or #899, the United States Naval Academy does not just take anyone. You must be a very stellar honor student, ZERO altercations with the law, get a nomination from your state's senator or governor, pass a rigorous interview process, among MANY other qualifications. The United States Naval Academy graduates OFFICER's who they intend to one day 10 to 15 years down the road, hand over the command of a naval vessel to. Once you actually graduate and proceed forward with your career, the qualifications of commanding each post/department/etc…make the actual academy process seem elementary.
This gentleman and scholar, fought for our country, was wounded in battle, held captive behind enemy lines, put through extreme torture to try and pry US secrets, operations, etc…and has dedicated his life to make this a country better than when he entered it.
This is NOT a race/gender issue. I think Mr. Obama has some great views, but the one underlying item that makes my skin crawl, is his devotion to the muslim religion, which if anyone has forgotten, was the basis for 9/11.
General Patten said it best when he said, "Do not die for your country, make the enemy die for theirs".
I would die for our country, our flag, our freedom, but I will not tolerate a terroistic belief of killing innocent people while dying for a symbolic idol such as the Muslim belief.
Most of this sounds like a bunch of pissed of liberals that care more about how many schools Palin went to than the true facts:
1. Capital gains tax: 28% on profit from ALL home sales;If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.)
2. Dividend tax:39.6%; If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president
3. Income tax:
Single making 30K – tax $8,400
Single making 50K – tax $14,000
Single making 75K – tax $23,250
Married making 60K – tax $16,800
Married making 75K – tax $21,000
Married making 125K – tax $38,750
Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!
4. Inheritance tax: Obama wants to restore the inheritance tax, and how does this affect us? Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.
Not to mention, when you compare the two side by side it seems like a no-brainer!!!
McCain: Obama:

time served in the US Senate 22yrs 173 days
wants to give Socail Security benifts to illegals No Yes
socialized national healthcare program no yes
And your'e telling me that because Obama is a "kind-hearted, intelligent man that wants to help people" you would rather vote for him? WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!
McCain has a very long family history of military service, including very high ranking members of the US Navy. His attending Annapolis was a foregone conclusion. There was no way he wasn't going there. Obtaining the necessary letters of recommendation, etc. wouldn't be that challenging. I honestly don't care that he finished towards the bottom of his class. However, it does beg the question of what level and category of achievement we expect (or should expect) from our nation's leaders. Should the "best of the best" be in or do we want "regular folks" in charge? The problem as I see it is that you can't claim status as an average Joe by growing up with privilege and performing poorly at an elite university.
By the way, how did all these humorless, jingoistic right wingers find their way to a COMEDY website? Y'all need to lighten up (and learn how to spell). Bob-were you talking about General Dick Van Patten or George S. Patton?

Hats off to you for your service to our great country. I also served my Country , U.S. Army . No I was not in no POW camp ? I do not understand your comment regarding a POW camp but anyways being thoughtful and caring for people does not qualify to be the President of the United States. Actually when he wrote 2 books and mentioned the fact that he has used hard drugs during his college years would disqualify him from being in Law Enforcement. Hell even Wal-Mart , if they find out you used hard drugs would not promote you to upper management. So you say he deserves to be the President of the United States ??? Maybe you took some recreational drugs at some point also ?
It does not matter how many degrees one has . It does not matter where one goes to school. I know people as I am sure you do , that has a degree and has no idea how the real world works . If he is intelligent like you say why does he not understand simple ECONOMICS ???????? It is obvious he does not .
A 24yearoldteacher All I can say is you have a lot to learn about reality my friend !! If you think McCain is the only person to get special privileges ( his father and Annapolis ) you are not very street smart yourself . See your educated and still lots to learn. Now does that make him any less worthy?? When I worked for a big Sheriffs Office in Riverside California I know many people who got hired simply for their race ( yes affirmative action ) . Now most of them were very good deputies and some were not.

I know lots of nice people that are educated and care about people. Many of the people I have put into jail are nice ,caring and intelligent people.
