Countdown to Electiony: 55 Days

On November 4th, a small percentage of eligible American voters will take a half-hour out of their days to find out where they're supposed to go to wait in line for the opportunity to vote for the man they'd most like to have a beer with in the 55th presidential election in this nation's history.
Well, that is, assuming it isn't canceled.

Being rich and out of touch with real Americans….Priceless
In an era when many Americans are having their houses foreclosed and cannot afford to pay for their kid’s college education, Cindy McCain was wearing the equivalent of a 5 bedroom house. Her outfit could have paid for 3 students to go to Harvard. Where are the Republicans who criticized John Edwards and John Kerry for their expensive outfits?
In contrast, Michelle Obama's outfit from her guest slot on The View cost 148 Dollars. That means Cindy McCain could have bought 2,000 of Michelle Obama's dresses, enough to give one to every woman over 25 in the town Sarah Palin was Mayor of.
Is Cindy McCain a modern day Marie Antoinette, living in extravagant luxury while her country suffers? How will the GOP spin their attacks on Obama being elitist and out of touch when Cindy McCain could feed a small African country for a week with her dress?
Here is a thought-provoking matter to ponder over about Gov Palin. In Alaska there is a Statutory Rape law on the books that says that if an 18yr old has sex with a 17yr old it is a felony, and this law is implicit. Though I personally don't agree with teens having sex because of what can possibly happen, as in the case with Gov Palin's daughter. However, my argument is not whether an 18yr old should be arrested for having sex with a 17yr old, which I am not all that crazy about, but the law is the law. It can also be argued that Gov Palin has been an irresponsible parent for allowing it to happen, by not taking a stronger stand in educating her daughter about what can happen if she makes the choice to date and have sex, not to mention this kids age. When my daughter was 17yrs old there was a 18yr old kid trying to see her, and I made it clear to him that I was willing to do whatever it took to insure that she had the best chance at life, and explained to them both, exactly the reasons why. Needless to say he never came back around again, and my daughter is currently in her third year of College. Putting this issue on the back burner for a second, I believe that this has more to do with Gov Palin being an irresponsible elected official, for not upholding the laws that she took an oath to uphold. Gov Palin along with others are treating this only as a personal matter, while totally disregarding its legal implication. I know this has caused personal embarrassment for Gov Palin, and I can sympathize with her for the embarrassment it has caused. Yet Irrespective of your differences with my opinion on this matter, I am sure we can all agree that we need someone in the Whitehouse that would implement the laws that they are entrusted to uphold. Because when we take a closer look at this matter, without any doubt there is a double standard being applied in this case, because there are many youngsters around the Country serving jail time for commenting this same offense? After all, isn't the Republican the ones that are always saying building more prisons, is what this Country needs? How can we allow Gov Palin to govern America, with this type of mentality? I HOPE THIS IS NOT WHAT SHE MEANS WHEN SHE SAYS THAT SHE IS A MAVERICK! Joe Johns of CNN has no problem reporting on unfounded rumors about Sarah Palin. So let’s see if he finds the time to finally report on something as important as this! I sincerely believe it would never happen, given his track record!
