John McCain Amends Meaning of the Word "Fundamentals" in Dictionary

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

Hey, you know how yesterday John McCain made that seemingly idiotically stupid comment about the economy? Oh, you know the one I'm talking about

"Our economy, I think still — the fundamentals of our economy are strong."

Obviously, the Obama campaign — as well as every other thinking person — jumped all over it…

Well, it turns out that Barack Obama — as well as every other thinking person — is stupid.

Because obviously "fundamentals" is a code word for "American workers", widely used by nobody ever in the history of ever…

"What I obviously was saying, and I believe, is the American workers, the most productive and the most innovative — they are the fundamentals of our economy and the strength of it and the reason why we will rebound," he said Tuesday on CNN's "American Morning."

I'm glad we got that straightened out.

While we're on the subject, "100 years in Iraq" is code for "I will buy all of you ice cream," and "Sarah Palin" is code for "Please vote for me, Jesus freaks, please!"

  1. Did anyone mention to McCain even using his new definition the economy was 605,000 "fundamentals" stronger at the beginning of the year?

  2. Of course, under this new world/economic view, the fundamentals of the economy are the American workers, themselves.

Hmmmm, let me think… Where have I heard of an economic system where the WORKERS, the backbone OF THE WORLD economy, allow us to UNITE!! under a banner, maybe a RED state banner for JOHN MCCAIN?

O!M!G! John McCain is a SOCIALIST!!!

  3. I also think its great hearing guys like O’Reilly and McCain talk about the corruption and rampant greed in the Oil and Stock Markets. Isn’t it these conservative / repub. guys that keep telling us deregulation is better? That free-er markets are better markets? That government needs to stay out? That inviting energy executives into private meetings to set a national energy policy is a good thing?

Hmmm… and they wonder were the corruption and greed came from.

  4. I can't believe McCain's advisors/writers let him say this. They had to know it would become a soundbite and point of attack.

  5. FINALLY! A good attack ad that's actually FROM the Obama campaign. I was wondering when we'd finally see some teeth from them.

And this is a good one– the repition of McCain's quote and the overlay of McCain and GW was perfect. Bravo guys! Bravo!

  7. I wish they could have some internal truth telling monologue being subtitled in yellow for these ads. Like, "Are you fucking completely numb, look in your wallet." Or, "Admit it. It's race isn't it? Register to vote at Sears."

  8. John and Sarah have a very disturbing habit of saying things that they have to issue explanations of explanations to explain to all us elitists what they really meant.

Sarah: I welcome the investigation of Troopergate and will cooperate fully, I think, oh wait, the teleprompter is telling me that no, I won't be cooperating because, umm hold on, well that darn teleprompter doesn't seem to be working so, I'm going to answer this with good old fashioned straight talk, I.. oh goody, it's back on! "I will not be cooperating with the investigation because it is biased and unfair and damn it I'm a hockey Mom. And besides, Charlie, I have executive privl…I mean the Bush Doctrine covers my … Charlie, Charlie??

  9. McCain now wants to form a study group on the economy. Shouldn't he have studied this … I don't know … BEFORE he decided to run for President ?!?

  10. Barack Obama spoke about the economy at Cooper Union in March 2008. Didn't get as much play as his race speech, but was dead on the money.
