Amazingly, Sarah Palin Vaguely Linked to Religious Nut
When are politicians going to learn? If you want to serve the public, you shouldn't go to church!
Both Obama and McCain learned this same lesson earlier in the campaign trail, and now it's Palin's turn…
[Pastor Thomas Muthee] whose prayer Sarah Palin says helped her to become governor of Alaska founded his ministry with a witchhunt against a Kenyan woman who he accused of causing car accidents through demonic spells.
When he wasn't at the Wasilla Assembly of God, "putting his hands" all over Palin (sounds dirty, doesn't it?), Pastor Muthee spent his time accusing "witches" of causing car accidents? It's kind of nice to see a man of the cloth taking such an interest in traffic violations. And personal harassment.
The Wasilla Assembly of God — or WAG as I like to call it — has already caused enough problems for the Sarah-cuda. Early in her national campaign (i.e. two week ago) it was discovered the church had some odd practices…
Church member Caroline Spangler told CNN, "When the spirit comes on you, you utter things that nobody else can understand… only God can understand what is coming out of our mouths."
If Palin adheres to the same religious philosophy, then she probably thinks Charlie Gibson was speaking in tongues. Because she obviously didn't understand a word coming out of his mouth.
In all honesty, I don't think Palin can be held accountable for Pastor Muthee's actions. I grew up going to church and trust me, you can't throw a hymnal without whacking someone touched in the head by the spirit.
Let's resolve to give all politicians one religious wacko get out of jail free card and move on from this one.

… just like the press "moved on" sooooo quickly from Jeremiah Wright, and did not at all demand that Barack Obama repudiate Wright, after what was NOT weeks of non-stop coverage.
Sure. Sarah Palin gets the pass that Obama never did, huh?
Actually, yes, she is getting the pass on her pastor that Obama did not get. Check out the mainstream media coverage. Much mention of Pastor Goofball and the WAG?
It's just so hard to believe that a nice (white) gal (white) like (white) Sarah Palin (white) would hold crazy views based on what her (white) pastor (white) says (white).
But how can one note believe that a (black) junior (black) US Senator (black) like (black) Barack Obama (black) can sit in (black) Rev Wright's (black) sermons (black) for all those years and not (black) believe (black) each and every crazy (black) thing (black) he says (black)? It's just so hard to believe.
(black)
Oh sure! When the black candidate is revealed to have some embarrassing relationships we're supposed to scrutinize them and talk about them endlessly. When the white candidate is revealed to have some embarrassing relationships, we're supposed to move on. This is the kind of nonsense I would expect to find on Glenn Beck's website, not the Daily Show website. I hope Jon Stewart kicks your ass.
Aw, c'mon Eel. We all know Jon Stewart can't kick anyone's ass without having a major asthma attack. Be nice.
Guys & gals – was the Kenyan woman duly investigated by the Alaskan Troopers? We can't call the Pastor whacko, if that witch was causing those car accidents.
No, let's not give ANY politicians a "religious wacko" get out of jail free card.
Any politician who is enough of a wacko to take "the Bible" — a collection of rambling stories written by Bronze age men with primitive technology — seriously, puts the future of our nation in jeopardy.
It's not just that the great social issues of the day are all clouded by religious dogma, it's not only that the environment doesn't stand a chance unless we can reasonably assess scientific findings about it, it's not only that our nation's youth will be a bunch of illiterate bumpkins unable to compete with Chinese kids who know that the universe is around 13 billion years old, not 6,000…. oh wait, no… it's ALL of those things.
Since most religious leaders of this variety have been to jail, I respond to all who want dole out "get out of jail free" cards … blulptyblubblubblublbusicktytickytangsicktickywangmamamamasingmmamasingmamsaymamasammakusagod.
…OMG, what? What happened? …Did Sen. Obama finallly start revealing his real plans? Do they match what Se. Biden is saying yet?…
Oh Sarah, Sarah
Let them say what they want
I don't care-a
I'll follow you anywhere-a
Just take my hand and you'll see
Oh Sarah, Sarah
I'll follow you way out there-a
Out on your bridge to nowhere-a
Like a lemming down to the sea.

*blink* um, lots of Christians and Jews think the world is 13 billion years old… it's the stated position of the Catholic Church that evolution is a fact. And even portions of the Evangelical movement have started going green, even if they feel reluctant to acknowledge our genetic ties to apes.
It really all depends on how you interpret that "collection of rambling stories" as to what kind of worldview you have on the environment, politics, etc. And yeah, if you God gave us all our oil 6000 years ago and intends to end the whole project before we run out, you're probably not gonna have the best of policies.
