Barack Obama Trying to Out-McCain John McCain?
Andrew Sullivan points to a Swampland post to highlight an unsettling trend in the Obama campaign…
The second Obama ad is even more egregious in misleading people about McCain's positions. The ad says McCain "voted against tax incentives for alternative energy–against ethanol, against fuel cells, against hybrids, against electric cars, against wind and solar, against geothermal."
Then the ad says McCain wants to give $4 billion in tax breaks to oil companies. This is all a nifty bit of misdirection.
The oil company tax breaks the ad refers to are a corporate tax cut McCain favors, which would apply to almost all profitable companies, not just oil companies–including those companies that work on wind, solar and biofuels. And McCain does support specific tax incentives for alternatives to oil.
The way I see it, it would be hypocritical to be against lying in the McCain campaign, while turning a blind eye to it in the Obama campaign.
However, many people live their lives very happily as hypocrites.
I think that's called Evangelical Christianity.

no, the last line was the absolute truth. jesus flipped tables of those making commerce in the synagouges, but they feel it's ok to put a starbucks in the lobby of their church. this is just an easy example, i could write a book about their hypocritical nature.
This article was witty and to the point until it got to that last line about Evangelicals. Then it got downright hateful.
I am not a lover of McCain, but I do not think it is right to just blatantly say something hateful about all of the Christian right.
Evangelicals have claimed it's the fault of the Jews that Gustav muddied their convention and Ike hit Bush's home state.
I was told this blog is full of sinners. Dirty, filthy, sinners who will all perish in the bowels of Hell at the feet of Satan. Meet me in the bathroom and flush away your dirty deeds.
lot of Evangies out there, some quite nice and rational and not at all hypocritical.
I think that's actually called the anti-gay rights movement. We all know they're in the closet.
No, YOU'RE called Evangelical Christianity!
