Election Day

We know that November 3, 2009 isn't a real Election Day. But still, we can all pretend. Right? Take a look at these six elections and let us know how much you care.

Former President Bill Clinton to Appear on The Daily Show Tuesday

POSTED BY: Eric March

…to discuss the Clinton Global Initiative, a sharp pivot from his 2006 interview with Jon Stewart, where he discussed the Clinton Global Initiative.

  1. Ask him why he is being such a c*@kblock. John McCain represents pretty much the exact opposite of everything Clinton believes in and what his Global Initiative stands for. However Clinton repeatedly gives interviews praising McCain. Would he be so kind if his wife was the nominee? There is too much at stake in this election (the economy, supreme court justices, Iraq, Iran, etc.) for him to continue playing the bitter man. Get over yourself and throw yourself fully behind Obama or else we will be a hole too deep to dig out of when he hopes Hillary can run again in 2012.

  2. Did Bill not, on the advice of Robert Rubin, sign into law the deregulation sponsored by Phil Gramm that led to the current economic catastrophe?

  3. Ask him why he barely even mentioned Barak Obama's name during his interview with David Letterman…why does it seem that he is afraid to give Obama his full support?? PS – Thank God someone is finally having actual interviews with these politicians and not just asking B.S. screened questions!(Tony Blair interview) The Daily Show ROCKS!!!

  4. Please ask Bill, on whose side he is. PLEASE!

  6. Please ask Clinton what he thinks, with the benefit of hindsight, is the proper course of action for governments to take in crisis situations, such as 9/11, Rwanda, Bosnia, Somalia, the current financial situation – should they as a representative body follow public opinion even though in such situations it is poorly informed, or should they act on their principles, the idea being that it was these principles the public elected them for in the first place?

On a similar vein, what does Clinton think of the line dividing the publicly elected official's duty to his/her electorate and his/her own opinions and principles?

  7. Please ask him what his wife can do to persuade her supporters to come over to Obama's camp – and why she isn't out there trying harder!

  8. what about Mccain and the POW cover up? have you read about it in The Nation? It would be dangerous to have this man as president. He squealed when he was first taken prisoner so that he could get medical care and the info he gave caused the demise of many pilots as he revealed their strategy. What about the fact that Mccain was not born on US soil? Is that not a way to remove him from the ballot? I hope that Bill will do the right thing.

  9. So they want billions……..if the legislation passes, do we own the companies to be "saved?" Can we stop them from increasing executive power by restricting, rather than expanding, the power of the Treasury?

Is Congress impotent? Are my children's children doomed to pay for the wanton actions of the rich?

Stocks are down, the Asian financial community owns us, and we seem to be unable to act in the interest of any group other than the obscenely rich, although the current proposal, absent the empowerment of the Treasury, would seem to ensure that the US is a socialist country economically….the dichotomy is difficult to accept — we can save Bush's friends, but we can't provide health insurance….. it seems we are bereft of moral certitude….

What does President Clinton think about the current situation?
