Stephen Colbert Spreads Lies About John McCain
Stephen follows John McCain's logic and spreads lies about the person who hasn't accepted his invitation.
John McCain claims Barack Obama set the negative tone when he didn't accept his invitation to appear in town hall meetings. Should Obama have agreed to it?
PERMALINK:

McCain ought to watch what he wishes for! Does it not occur to him that during these "meetings" he's not allowed cue cards, tele-prompters or notes on index cards. (Something that he has at EVERY speech he makes).
He's a joke, and knows it. That's why he keeps bringing it up. Get over it, Johnny! Barack is too smart for you! (Mr. 5th from the Bottom of the class, even though your daddy was a high ranking military officer.)
Obama is going to rape McCain in debates. I am sooo looking forward to it.
I bet he did
John McCain didn't come suck my hotdog as requested, he lost a vote from me.

LMAO…
Obama can't read his own name unless it is on a teleprompter…..he is an empty suit with Zero experience….McCain wants the debates because he knows that Obama CAN NOT THINK with out a script.
This campaign will hinge on the debates…seems to me that McPalin will have to have th equestions in advance to be able to answer them…sort of like an open book test.

Stop repeating what you hear and actually go watch an unscripted interview of obama, try the O'Reily factor. He's much more competant that McCain and his blizzard of lies
It's funny because Colbert is pretty much doing the same thing that Rush Limbaugh was doing with his syndicated TV show in the 1990's. Almost every episode had clips of some Democrat saying X and then playing another video or showing some news article quoting the same guy saying the opposite. And I realize his delivery is supposed to mock how O'Reilly and conservative talk show hosts operate, but it's funny how his comedic delivery is almost the same as Limbaugh's on his own show. And like Limbaugh, when Colbert (or John Stewart, for that matter) makes a statement that's later shown to be not exactly true, he just shrugs it off and says he's an entertainer. The ultimate irony of Colbert is that he is legitimately more like Limbaugh than he is satirically like O'Reilly.

Don't you remember the lump under George B's coat during his debates? A lump that was likely a receiver for prompting. Remember how well McCain did when he "forgot" to be isolated during the questioning with Obama? I have seen the unscripted Obama talking in public and it give me a great deal of hope for the debates, unless the right wing (very sharp) talk show drug addict is on the secret channel to McCain during the debates.
The reason McCain wants townhall and Obama doesn't is strategy. Obama has raised more money and is spending 2x more than Mccain…but he has no problem raising more funds to pay for his campaign…he seems to do it with ease. So now McCain has to figure out how to keep up… more debates insures he gets more air time and reaches a larger audience without costing him money that he will need for the end of OCT. Obama doesn't have this problem and he isn't going to give his opponent an advantage. I think Obama is right and McCain would do the same if he was in that position. That said I don't think that ad was a response to Obama not agreeing to more debates…it would have ran no matter what.
