Barney Frank Compares John McCain to Mighty Mouse
How can you resist Barney Frank? The cuddly Congressman from Massachusetts has a certain knack for expressing exactly what we need to hear at times of crisis.
For instance, this morning he gave his description of the necessity of John McCain's decision to swoop into Washington and exercise his leadership on the bailout negotiations:
"He's been irrelevant to the process. He remains to be," said Frank. "I was afraid that his dropping in here, like Andy Kaufman's Mighty Mouse — 'here I am to save the day' — I thought that would slow things down. I didn't see any sign of our Republican colleagues paying any attention to him whatsoever."
Frank went on. "Nobody mentioned him. The man's irrelevant to the whole process. No Republican mentioned his name. I'm the only one who raised his name. They winced when I did," he said.
Take it from Frank: He may be a highly partisan Democrat, but he's also the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, and he's leading these negotiations.
And he's heart-warmingly hilarious! He couldn't resist getting in yet one more dig:
Though he said McCain's presence would be unhelpful, he did say, getting a dig in at McCain's running mate, that there "were times when I was ready to suggest that, when we got to some of the more complicated issues about how do you price these sophisticated instruments, that we ask him to make Sarah Palin available to give us her expertise."
If that doesn't feel great, I don't know what does.

Ya its just too bad Barney Frank didnt put some stipulations in this bailout, LIke americans get to know where the money is going? or what it is to be used for? Barney Frank sold u down the river folks. NO ONE would give 385 billion to someone without knowing what it is to be used for. Foolish dedication is killin this country.
Go Barney! He is kicking ass.

Oh, and Ken Lay didn't go to prison. He checked out while on a ski trip before his sentencing.
Barney Frank is dragging up stale memories. Anything that happened yesterday is not relevant enough to complain about (according to Michael Regan and Steve Ducey on Fucks News.)

My favorite part is when Mike's argument is based on the "that happened in the 1980's" Like who was the loser in office then?
This is surgerific! McCain tells Brian Williams that if missing the presidential debate costs him political points than so be it. But, he's hopeful he will be there. Tony Clifton puts on a better act.
That'll be the day for all Americans, I am speechless.
