Bob Barr Will Take That Debate Spot If Nobody Else is Using It

POSTED BY: G. Xavier Robillard

Former Congressman Bob Barr, who's running as the Libertarian candidate for President of Imaginationland, will totally take part in the debate in Mississippi if John McCain doesn't show.

In a statement, Barr suggested

"Given Senator McCain's political stunt to avoid the debate, I ask that Friday's debate moves forward without him, as I am more than willing to step in to participate."

Green Party candidate Cynthia McKinney also expressed her willingness to swipe McCain's chair…

"I'm ready to go up against Barack Obama or any other candidate and present my ideas to the American people."

She promised that she will maintain decorum and has totally learned her lesson from punching that cop a few years ago.

Obama's campaign hasn't yet responded from their various offers but he probably hasn't had this much contact with people who will never be president since his last trip to Kenya.

  1. People like bearness don't want Bob Barr to enter the debate because if he does, they'll see that his ideas are better than the ones Obama has.

  2. McCain and his soul mate (more like sour mate) are chickened out because they would stumble in the debate even with their lies all these times. But they can only lie thru tv ads, when facing people, they will really be looking ugly. This is a POLITICAL camgaign, you need to tell people what your idea and ways to lead us thru this financial turmoil, and yet he chose hiding behind Bush (sounded like Qual?) hoping that Americans would not have time to see his real face (it's getting closer to 11/4). The less he and McCain exposed to the public, the better. Now he's trying to fix the mess he helped created all these years. He has not a clue what to do.

  3. If I were McCain I would not want to go toe to toe with Obama either
Its going to be a rerun of the Clinton/ Dole debate and McCain knows it!

  4. Who says Barr Won't be president. It is idiots like you who believe that believe a vote for Barr is a wasted vote. Let me tell you something a vote for Barr is a vote closer to freedom. If people give Barr a chance then he can and will sussed. Too many people go and wast their vote by not voting, not being informed or just voting for the lesser of 2 evils. If people just went and voted being informed of all the candidates the democrats and republicans would not have a monopoly over this country.

I will vote for Bob Barr. it is not a wasted vote it is a vote for me freedom back.

  5. Isn't that just like America to threaten to throw out a perfectly good debate rather than give it to those less fortunate candidates that really need the leftovers.

  6. Hey- two actual candidates!!! Maybe we'll see a real debate for once! No partisan p*ssy fights, even!
Finally, two guys debating like adults. Is hell freezing over or something?

  7. Ha-ha – let's all laugh while the country goes down the drain. How about having Cynthia McKinney on one of your shows to talk about her solutions to the bailout http://votetruth08.com/index.php/learn/mckinney-messages? It's possible to have a sense of humor and be relevant at the same time.

  9. While I truly appreciated Obama's polite decorum in acknowledging when he and McCain agreed, and on some of the points it was on basic statements of fact, in many cases it simply showed how little difference there was between them. In this sense, it reminded of the 2000 debates when Gore said more than 20 times that he and Bush agreed with each other. How said that we did not get perspectives from McKinney, Barr, Nader and Baldwin, letting the nation know there are many ways to approach foreign policy that should be on the table.

  10. I agree with Ann, Cynthia has well researched ideas, a good sense of humor and a pleasant persona, good tv.
