Congress Close to Suspension-Blocking John McCain

Looks like John McCain is going to have to come up with a new excuse for hiding under his bed where the scary poll numbers can't find him.
Because it appears that our do-nothing Congress is actually doing something about The $700 Billion Econopocalypse…
Emerging from a two-hour negotiating session, Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., the Banking Committee chairman said, "We are very confident that we can act expeditiously."
"I now expect that we will indeed have a plan that can pass the House, pass the Senate (and) be signed by the president," said Sen. Bob Bennett, R-Utah.
However, the bill — whatever shitty terms it includes — probably won't be ready for the president to sign for a couple of days, what with all the voting and harumphing and palm-greasing that is the normal matter of course in Congress.
But still. It's good to know that all our financial woes will be solved in a few short days, and we can all go back to campaigning and eating and breathing again.

It's already legal for the vice president to shoot people.
Bipartisan schmipartisan. McCain just swooped in and came up with some new "core" plan with Bush in an effort to unify everyone. The new sexy McCain: Ménage à trois partisanship.
Why do I get the feeling Congress is going to accidentally make it legal for the President to shoot people?
He is using yet another ploy to avoid the press because his camPAIN is afraid of more gaffes and their impact on the polls – it will be so much harder to account for voting tally inconsistencies; but there may be some truth to the concerns for his health – he may be hiding the truth on multiple levels.
…suspend his campaign and cancel a debate so he can negotiate a bill and not actually be involved in the negotiating of the bill.
…or for that matter even bother to read the proposal in the first place.
Where's John McCain in that picture? Only a Maverick of McCain's caliber can suspend his campaign and cancel a debate so he can negotiate a bill and not actually be involved in the negotiating of the bill.
