The Colbert Report: John McCain Suspends His Campaign So He Can Fix the Economy
Stephen can't think of anything more presidential than suspending your presidential campaign.
Will John McCain help the economic meltdown by returning to Washington, or is he just avoiding the debates?
PERMALINK:

Why suspend your campaign anyways…how come he doesn't let Palin takeover while he's so called helping the economy? That's what a VP does takeover when something happens to the President…shows how much faith McCain has in Palin and how useless she is.
Oops on your math folks. The working class of America only makes up approximately 30-35% of the population according to the US Census. So the amount working tax payers would be closer to $6700.00 per person. I know that if I have to pay that out of my pocket I won't be eating quite a few meals over the next year.
United States population is 300 million, not 200.
What's with the attacks on Palin? I just don't see the rational. Their is really nothing substantial to attack her on. It's not like she goes to a racist church that hates America, or has a record of voting to raise taxes 94 out of 94 times, or associates with terrorists, or has no leadership experience. All these attacks are just name calling with zero support. I realize she has provoked fear among democrats, but all the shallow attacks really are making the left look ignorant, bitter, and SCARED.
name one reason that Palin is useless. Just 1.
That is presidential? My god what was Bush thinking when he was running the whole country and STILL debated.
jeez nate, you're really really sad. mccain could light you on fire and you'd spout some nonsense like "john knew i was cold. he cares!" seriously dude, pull your head out. it's a travesty that people as ignorant as you are allowed to vote.
Hey Nate – first of all, it's "rationale," not "rational." In fact, you've pointed out exactly the problem with Palin: selecting her as a running mate was an irrational decision by McCain. She has no more experience to be VP than my mother does. The left isn't scared of Palin, we're scared of V.P. Palin – she'd be a complete disaster in the White House.
wow nate! you really sound like an educated voter. I bet you're one of the 19% who still support bush. Good luck with your vote douchebag
No-one is fooled.
We The People want to know what the candidates are really like, not in a commercial or a scripted rally – but in a back-and-forth debate.
McCain Cut-and-Run.
