The Daily Show: Larry Wilmore Questions Barack Obama's Blackness

POSTED BY: TheInDecider

Larry wants the black guy to win, but he's confused about which candidate that is. John McCain has been showing some flavor lately, while Larry's only seen Obama's white side.

Does Barack Obama need more passion and juice?

  4. Just in case someone "believe" that guys math. It's kinda … well… way the hell off. He claims 200 million into 85 billion is $425,000 dollars for ever person over 18… It's not… it's a $425 dollars and no cents….. Go back to high school math class. To get that much money per person you need to start with 85 _T_rillion.

  6. nice take from Wilmore , you can feel the irony in each of his words. I mean who care's Obama is black , white, yellow , green, in last presidential debate he was holding back like all his speaches were from different guy. Mccain on other looked somewhat better at least for european like myself. Still Obama has many issues on his side , so I hope next time he will be more energetic and risk it little more.

  7. I think the underlying statement was that it is ridiculous to assume that the Black American vote hinges on how black Obama is. Americans have a variety of reasons for choosing a candidate, regardless of their ethnicity or gender.

Equally, it is ridiculous for McCain to think that women will vote for him because he has a female running mate. I'm a woman, but Sarah Palin stands for everything I don't like.

Interesting math … cute, but scares me …

    > the premise "we deserve it" underscores a big part of the core issue … the common calculus based on 'deserving it' speaks to a lot of how we got here … government entitlements, corporate greed, hyper-over-extended consumers

    > the "heck with them, give it to me" overlooks the fact that putting a bullet into AIG richocets through millions of families and businesses who abruptly find their life insurance, annuities, and pension investments have disappearred … along with the resulting withdrawal of confidence in the overall financial system

    > it shows how easy it is to play on the public's lack of understanding of both the workings of the financial system and specifics of the 'bailout' transactions; in the case of AIG, the warrants give the taxpayer the option to become the effective 80% owner of AIG and the borrowing terms were just short of the rate charged by the payday lenders

All in all, when it comes to the questions about bailing out financial institutions, we need to be prudent and vigilent as the proposals are written and debated, but 'ask not for whom the closing bell tolls ,.. it tolls for all of us'

By the way, when will I be getting my check? I deserve it.

  10. The bottom line is the American people will choose between an old war monger with sidekick Palinjoe 6 pack that truely lives in a world of war mentally or a possible communist (no proof) black man with little leader skills with "OLd Joe" back checking his every move?

I personally believe that Barack will make a better leader if he chooses his "groneys"(as McCain referred to be)wisely..

One must read the chips on their shoulder….
Barack…perhaps to help to bring equal rights to our country, make changes for our war-oil-mongering.

McCain…to make up for the betrayal of his fellow pow's, become the powerful military leader his father was, and go out with a name for himself military style.
The hell with USA people…..suffer some more!!!!
