Now Even John McCain is Bashing Sarah Palin

POSTED BY: Matt Tobey

It was bad enough that many rank and file conservatives had barfed up their Sarah Palin Kool-Aid and begun criticizing the spunky winker from Alaska, but now things have simply gotten out of control.

In a fiery speech in New Mexico today, Palin's own running-mate had this to say

I didn't just show up out of nowhere, after all — America knows me. You know my strengths and my faults. You know my story and my convictions. And though familiarity in politics can be both helpful to a candidate, or not so helpful, it does at least fill out the picture and answer the essential questions.

You need to know who you're putting in the White House — where the candidate came from and what he or she believes. And you need to know now, before it is time to choose.

Damn! I know McCain is desperate, but this is a Hail Mary I've never even imagined.

  1. No! He means you have to know everything about a Democrat, not a Republican. Republicans you should just trust on their word. (Even the words that contradict their other words.)

Just like when Palin rails against long-time Senators who are getting on in years – she only means Democrats. The old, out of touch Republicans are fine.

  2. What I know about John McCain: He's been in the Senate a long time, he's from Arizona, he and his rich wife own a pile of houses and cars, he's been against banking regulation far longer than he's been for it (about 26 years vs 2 weeks), he was one of the Keating Five, he thinks we should be in Iraq for 100 years, he admits he's weak on the economy, he voted with this President 90% of the time, he wants to overturn Roe v Wade, he voted against the most recent improvements to the GI Bill, he is against banning assault weapons from the streets, and he picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. Oh, and he was a POW. There's more stuff, sure, but did I get anything wrong?

So, he didn't show up out of nowhere. Big deal. Don't tell me Barack Obama coalesced ex nihilo nineteen months ago. Apparently, being a community organizer in some tough neighborhoods, going to Harvard Law and running the Law Review, being elected to the Illinois legislature, being elected to the US Senate, and then being selected the Democratic nominee for President in one of the toughest primary battles ever is just so like, you know (wink), nowheres-ville. What a poser. What a loser.

  4. McCain is grasping at straws and he is trying to use scare tactics the republicans used these and won the past 8 years. Don't fall for it, Pres Bush scared us with the WMD and scared us into voting for him. Haven't seen any weapons of mass destruction yet.. Don't forget, Mccain is bush, bush is mccain. Keep focused America. Ann Coulter is racis? How does Sarah Palin relate to the women of America? I'm not a moose hunting, gun slinging, harpooning, parachute jumping joe sixpack. Get real and stop winking it's starting to get sexual…

  5. I'm still trying to figure out how the republican party can claim that life is sacred and they will do anything to defend it then send their own children off to a war they know has no point. (of course I don't know how the democrats think the government can operate a giant insurance conglomerate, but it doesn't seem as dangerous or hypocritical, somehow.) http://www.reddyrighter.com
