Election Day

We know that November 3, 2009 isn't a real Election Day. But still, we can all pretend. Right? Take a look at these six elections and let us know how much you care.

Alaska Panel Finds Sarah Palin Guilty of Douchiness

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

So, remember that Troopergate business that was kind of haunting Governor Palin's first few weeks of VP-nominationhood but was ultimately mostly overtaken by her obvious ineptitude?

It's back, and this time it's looking more potent

A legislative committee investigating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has found she unlawfully abused her authority in firing the state's public safety commissioner.

The investigative report concludes that a family grudge wasn't the sole reason for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan but says it likely was a contributing factor.

This might sound bad like a bad thing for a U.S. governor/vice-presidential nominee, and it probably would be for any other.

But for Sarah Palin, it really just reinforces her reputation as a maverick. Assuming what she's mavericking from is the law.

  5. we don't want Sarah to be a baby killer – we'd just like our candidates to be intelligent – our didsain for W's lack of prowess with foreign policy and even vocabulary – mangling words like nuke-u-lar that has been criticized for years but still repeated by the mystery newspaper reading GOP VP nominee, just means her idiocy is all the more obvious.

  6. so who's surprised she deems herself not guilty? She is a liar and a fool; I loathe her, and yet I can't look away.

  7. Lisa in Shelton,

I know exactly how you feel. It's like passing an accident scene. One knows that what is seen and heard will be gruesome and horrific, but one is fascinated nonetheless. It's the reason I respond to every one of these threads with her name in it. I know better. Even mentioning her confers on her a seriousness she in no way deserves. But I do it anyhow. A guilty, well, *pleasure* isn't quite the word. Compulsion. Perhaps it's cathartic.

  8. Exactly, anyone of intelligence is tuning in now to this train wreck not because Palin can be taken seriously but because her Bush like bobbles are so entertaining. Are Palin and Bush related through some unknown in-breeding connection that produces particularly and completely mentally challenged political candidates? Is this a terrorist plot by McCain? He is after all palling around with what looks like one of the most serious threats to America ever … his running mate. How can anyone support such a clown candidate in a soon to be post Bush world? Are Americans now capable of learning nothing from the days events as they are unfolding? It is getting beyond funny anymore. The neocons would actually replace the idiot Bush with two bigger idiots in McCain/Palin unless the rest of America wakes up. Time to wake up; time is running out.

  9. Biden is the dangerous running mate. He's the threat to America. Look up his record. It doesn't help to be blind. Investigate. Don't just lean on his six terms in the Senate as proof of experience. Find out exactly what he has done in those six terms in the Senate.

He is no friend to the Constitution.

He is no friend of States Rights.

    That's for starters.

WE HOPE NOT…PLEASE TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THE MARKETS AND SEE IF DURING THE RECENT CRISIS THE WEAPONS MANUFACTURERS WERE DOWN!!!!
