Alaska Panel Finds Sarah Palin Guilty of Douchiness

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

So, remember that Troopergate business that was kind of haunting Governor Palin's first few weeks of VP-nominationhood but was ultimately mostly overtaken by her obvious ineptitude?

It's back, and this time it's looking more potent

A legislative committee investigating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has found she unlawfully abused her authority in firing the state's public safety commissioner.

The investigative report concludes that a family grudge wasn't the sole reason for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan but says it likely was a contributing factor.

This might sound bad like a bad thing for a U.S. governor/vice-presidential nominee, and it probably would be for any other.

But for Sarah Palin, it really just reinforces her reputation as a maverick. Assuming what she's mavericking from is the law.

  1. This is a sorry state of affairs that a person like this is representing a state, let alone, a party or even thought of to a country. Our country. This isn't American Idol or the Home Shopping Network. This is serious and sad that the truth doesn't seem to count, that a Obama's superior intellect, and lifetime like of arduous education, valiant character, and service to humanity, can even be compared, yet criticized by a person of so little of any of that. With all the people, all the women, from Hillery Clinton to Elizabeth Dole, there wasn't one that was a better choice? Do we only have sound bites, and slams on character with no basis in fact? Will we continue slide down into a sinful pit and make a pact with the devil, to torture, incarcerate at will, steel nicely from anyone who can't get ahead? "You Betcha!" I guess this is the end of the line. If McCain, who seemed OK some years ago, and the Republican trick of a running mate get in, we may as well all just pack it in. Our country will be mediocre at base, and we won't know why.

  2. NO WAY! No way will I allow anyone to attack Sarah Palin for trying to "unemploy" a man she well understood doesn't belong on a police force. If you want corruption and abuse of power, go to to Washington and find all those people filling their pockets at our expense. She did the right thing.

If you really, really need to stone a good and decent woman, tell you what, stone me first.

There are many, many men who do not deserve their jobs in law enforcement because they don't have the right temperament for it. Men who crave dominance over those at a a disadvantage. We don't need 'em.

Sarah Palin, you did the right thing.

  3. And btw, because Todd Palin is a REAL man who does not cozy up to bullies, it seems to have been HIS issue. First Dude, rock on!

  4. @mary-m

OH PUH-LEEZE. Give me a shovel so I can get out from under the depths of what you are dumping.

Sarah Palin abused her power because of a personal grudge. If someone had done that to you or your family, you would be outraged.

So take your "I'll support the white woman/Republicans under any circumstances" bullmalarky to FoxNews.com or somewhere else where no one will call you on it, because if you took your comments and spread it around roses, they would flourish.

  5. There's really not much to say other than the people that still believe in this woman are just "stupid." It's not a crime. I just never realized how many of them there are in the US.
