Who Still Votes Republican?
In today's New York Times, conservative columnist David Brooks laments the GOP's gradual estrangement of large swaths of the electorate over the last two decades…
The Republicans have alienated whole professions. Lawyers now donate to the Democratic Party over the Republican Party at 4-to-1 rates. With doctors, it's 2-to-1. With tech executives, it's 5-to-1. With investment bankers, it's 2-to-1. It took talent for Republicans to lose the banking community.
Conservatives are as rare in elite universities and the mainstream media as they were 30 years ago. The smartest young Americans are now educated in an overwhelmingly liberal environment.
That's a lot of people, to be sure, but there are still some professions that reliably vote Republican…
* Unemployment office clerks
* White bespectacled female SNL and Mad TV aspirants
* Coat-hanger importers
* Flag-draped coffin moguls
* Flop sweat distillers

There is an obvious conclusion to make here; lawyers, doctors, bankers, news media professionals and university professors all hate America.
People are educated these days, they are able to analyse btwn obama and mccain and obviously its only a small fraction of voters who gonna vote for mccain. Obama is the many to lead usa and the world at large. Why vote for mccain he is a lunatic as well as a war monger, we need people who love peace to be on the driving seat and in obama i think we have the right candidate for the top job. How many soldiers died in iraq, afghanstan and vietnam? Life is precious, we only live once and thats it. Wake up guys
You mean 3 decades of playing to the fundamentalists, demonizing lawyers and intellectuals, trying to insert the government in between individuals and their doctors, and making it easier for HMOs to determine what treatments patients receive has created some resentment? Nah, couldn't be that.

My question: who will be the face of "Big Brother"? These are frightening times. I am especially troubled when I hear the McCain campaign fomenting hate speech. Can the riots be far behind? Or is that what they're hoping? This is ugly as sin, and McCain has forfeited any claim he has to honor and heroism. And Palin might well re-examine the basic tenets of her faith. She could start with the commandment about not bearing false witness.
reason number (A) why GOP has to get all of it's staffers and DOJ attorneys from Liberty University.
