John McCain Torture Not Straight Talk?

According to the Guardian a retired Vietnamese army guard claims that John McCain was not tortured while he was held in a North Vietnamese POW camp…
"Nguyen Tien Tran, who was the camp's chief guard, acknowledged that conditions in the prison were 'tough, though not inhuman'. But, he added: 'We never tortured McCain. On the contrary, we saved his life, curing him with extremely valuable medicines that at times were not available to our own wounded.'"
In an interview Tran claims that McCain's prematurely gray hair, often cited as a product of abuse, came about because in "prison you think too much."
Yeah, and it turns especially gray when "you think too much" about whether the guards will kick your teeth in, if you'll get dropped into solitary confinement again, or which cocktail of drugs they're withholding from their own wounded that will coincidentally make you more cooperative.
It's unlikely that the Obama campaign or the Democratic party will attempt to use this revelation, and by revelation I mean "some guys attempt to get a book deal in the next three weeks because his pension ran out."
Sources indicate that Moveon.org will use the news to launch the "Torture Camp Guard Veterans for Truth" movement.

nahhh
i dont think this will be used by the democratic campaign it would be too risky to touch…..kinda reminds you about what they were willing to say about kerry's service in 04'

Hair turns grey regardless. If it were caused by a vitamin deficiency, it would return to normal when his diet improved.
On a not totally serious note, what if this story is true. Politically, you can't run with this football, but, aside from the new grey-haired biochemistry remark, we weren't there. It would make sense for them to keep him alive and in good health. So he can be the real Manchurian Candidate. He was in a hospital. Maybe that's where they reprogrammed him and his cellmates into saying he is nice and was a leader. Why do you think The Manchurian Candidate (the real one) was blacklisted for years? Also…

Xavier — you love slumming with us here. Righteous. The slums here are tougher than this so-called "Hanoi Pit of Hell" hogphooey. Let him try this blog.
Cube FTW!
Everybody Nguyen Tran Tonight.
Commies don't get capitalism yet, do they? No Tran, you embrace torturing McCain, not push it away. Brag about how you had your way with McCain, boast about it those "special moments" you two shared in some kind of Vietnamese version of Deliverance. Give the mob a regular freak show. That's how you milk your fifteen minutes of fame.
