Politically, you can't run with this football, but, aside from the new grey-haired biochemistry remark, we weren't there. It would make sense for them to keep him alive and in good health. So he can be the real Manchurian Candidate. He was in a hospital. Maybe that's where they reprogrammed him and his cellmates into saying he is nice and was a leader.
