In a sign that indicates how everyone in mainstream politics is terrified of Detroit, the Big Three, and Jennifer Granholm's sexy, sexy hair, the Obama campaign is pulling out of Michigan.

An email forwarded to The Atlantic's Marc Ambinder reads that: "Half the Michigan field team is being moved to other even more precarious states."

Those "precarious" states include red states with large volcanoes, states with feral dragon populations, states that haven't gone blue since Jimmy Carter (North Carolina), and Indiana.

Although the move is explained by Obama's 10-point-lead in Michigan, since it has been abandoned by both Democrats and Repubicans the Wolverine State is wide open for the Libertarians, which, polling at 1%, even according to the margin-of-error, can only go up.
