They had to wait and save their money before they even ought to think of a decent home. Wait? Wait for what? Until their children grow up and leave them? Until they're so old and broken down that they… Do you know how long it takes a working man to save five thousand dollars? Just remember this, Mr. Potter, that this rabble you're talking about… they do most of the working and paying and living and dying in this community. Well, is it too much to have them work and pay and live and die in a couple of decent rooms and a bath? Anyway, my father didn't think so. People were human beings to him. But to you, a warped, frustrated old man, they're cattle. Well, in my book he died a much richer man than you'll ever be.

Hell yes, a wedding proposal is < an SNL skit. But the comma is never far, and truly the only comfort I have in grammar. I only changed the the@ format because…well because I don't know where to go, who to see, yeah

I was reading the commentary here and thought it was more interesting than SNL. That and a wedding proposal. Also, I think the symbol "@" should be removed from our computer jargon. I'm pro-comma now. Please join the comma revolution. I am also starting a coalition banning smiley faces. Finally, if people really are laughing out loud or their asses fall off, they must somehow prove it.

I think the difference is McCain was extremely repentant for that lapse in judgement whereas Obama shrugs off his association to Ayers, an unrepentant violent extremist. On the other hand, in both cases, it does speak to judgement.

One thing I think it might be good to ask ourselves is whether any of us have made errors in judgement. I think we expect more perfection from either of these people than is realistic. Just trying to crucify the one we are against all the time? Do you suppose it really has to be like that? I get sick of it don't you?

Hey, how much would you pay to see McCain and Obama in a pie fight? I'd give anything to see that! I really liked that comedy thing they did the other night. It just made me feel better to see them in a different light. They were both pretty funny. I think we should more of that kind of thing during campaigns.

Lets talk about a fact. Charles Keating was a corporate man who owned among other things a savings and loan – specifically Lincoln Savings and Loan. It seems Mr Keating swindled millions from the institution's depositors and investors and when caught, enlisted the help of some of his best political pals to help bail him out. One of those friends was John McCain (a friend that Keating would refer to as a wimp). The idea was that Keating and four others would get the feds off his back – no doubt in exchange for the generous contributions made to political campaigns. Ultimately, Keating went to prison and McCain's and the other four's role in helping him out were swept under the rug. None-the-less, it shows what kind of character McCain has and who his friends are. If Palin and McCain wish to assasinate a man's character, they better make sure they step out of the glass house they are standing in before throwing stones!

Now, if I was making the sequel to the Matrix, I would make it so that Neo didn't need to "plug in" to the hardware and his powers as "the one" would not be dependent on technology. That would be a better storyline. Neo should have conquered or have been above technology.

That scene with the oracle when she was baking cookies was nice. It had a retro feel to it. You might have picked up on that up unless you're a lot younger than me. In my day, we smoked pot outside the school and didn't wind up in jail. We had fun in school.

You put "black" in quotes, so I'm thinking you know that there is no such animal as the "black" agenda, Jerry. We all have different driving motivations but some core ones tend to be adequate health care, education, employment, and a non prejudicial justice system. We inhabit all levels of the public sphere so whereas I am proudly and moderately African centered, I'm pretty sure Barack is not. In fact he's as Western supremest as any other of these politicians. He's just reasonable enough to know that America should not have alienated its friends and galvanized its enemies with it's Billy Big Dick mentality because now, when we're in no condition to be the world's dictator, we're going to need to talk to some folk instead of starting any and every conflict with arms and bombs.

I like him, the all important working class whites in my city like him and I think he can be a good referee/ambassador for disparate American factions.

Clearly people associate with other people base upon common interests. People also avoid people who have poor character. Americans definately should know the details of Obamas relationships before voting for him. It is NOT unreasonable to think this man could destroy the USA from within. He has friends who support the downfall of democracy in the U.S. He has friends that hate the United States because of the “white” evil in power. His own wife is an outspoken advocate of doing EVERYTHING in her power to forward the “black” agenda. Don’t forget he has already prep up for unconditional talks with terrorist supporting governments. This man will obviously provide huge advantages to our nations enemies. History has already proven higher taxes in a fragile economy will promote a depression. Obama will have his hand on all the buttons with little to no experience and tremendous opportunity to destroy this country.
Wrong I am not a radical full of fear. Just an educated (Masters Degree in Business) person who aced economics. People do have the right to question a candidates character. In fact it should be the first line of understanding before listening to what they have to say. Anyone can promise the moon just to get what they want!
