Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Saturday accused Democratic rival Barack Obama of favoring a socialistic economic approach by supporting tax cuts and tax credits McCain says would merely shuffle wealth rather than creating it.
"At least in Europe, the Socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives," McCain said in a radio address.
Zut alors! When will Barack Obama follow the example of his all-important European Socialist constituency, and come clean about his lustful collectivist urges?

Check out the Alaska's Permanent Fund Dividend Trust which pays every "eligible" Alaskan to stay in Alaska. My impression is that this is STATE welfare ….. socialism if you will if you take McCain's definition of it. The monies come from revenue generated by/on/because of public lands in the way of timber, minerals, oil, etc. Why are Alaskans so special that they get paid off of OUR public lands and the rest of the citizens of the United Sates do not? ISN'T THIS REDISTRIBUTION OF OUR WEALTH?

You are dead on right about the Electoral College system. Unfortunately, it is more likely that the United States will become a democracy (i.e., parliamentary) then that it would get rid of the Electoral College. Fortunately, a movement doesn't have to win to have a great affect on the policies. If the voting group gets large enough, some one will come calling for their vote.
What the third parties should do is quit putting up presidential candidates. It just erodes credibility. Until support is sufficient, the goals should be focused locally.

Obama is quite the leader. To arm yourself against the McCain attacks, just look up Reverend Wright, Ayers and Rezko and others. Then, if people say that we can't trust Obama, you will be able to explain the facts. You will know everything you need.
