McCain may be behind, but he doesn't know the meaning of the word quit. He used to, but it was stored in the same part of his brain that remembered to vet his running mate.
Does he have a chance to turn it around?

Why didn't McCain just come out and tell the ugly truth? – he fully expects people to arrive at their polling place, remember how much they hate and distrust coloreds, and vote for him despite what the polls say.
Who remembers what Stephen said about McCain on that show? His guest was Yo-Yo Ma! (I think it was that episode.) A truly significant man.
I can't believe no one connected it to his ABBA fetish.
