Election Day

We know that November 3, 2009 isn't a real Election Day. But still, we can all pretend. Right? Take a look at these six elections and let us know how much you care.

Ron Paul Shills for Klan-Endorsed Carpetbagger

POSTED BY: Dylan Ris

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) is well known to be Capitol Hill's voice of measured reason and old-fashioned morality, at least on days when Joe Lieberman is out bloviating for Sarah Palin.

Well this week, Dr. Paul cast his gaze of reason and morality across this great land and came to the same conclusion that the Ku Klux Klan did in 2003: California must elect State Rep. Tom McClintock to higher office…

Paul, the libertarian-Republican congressman from Texas who raised more than $34 million for his presidential race, sent out an e-mail last week urging his massive donor base to contribute to McClintock.

"Tom McClintock is one of the most promising warriors in the fight against big government we have seen in a long time, and the special interests and big bankers know it. … You have stood with me as….

…I campaigned for the Presidency to return our federal government to its proper role. Will you help me bring a reliable ally to Congress?"

Beyond the Klan's endorsement, Paul must have admired McClintock's one-man foiling of a Chinese plot to steal oil off the coast of Florida — a region that is roughly the same distance from McClintock's home as the district he's running in.

With a resume like McClintock's, you have to wonder how Paul picked him over equally reasonable, moral candidates like, say, Ted Stevens.

(By the way, just to give Ron Paul supporters a head start on the comments section, let me just point out that I am a pathetic, ignorant scum of the earth who deserves nothing short of deportation and a slow, painful death.)

  1. Some people are just complete asses… like this blogger.

Who cares about the friggin' KLAN when we have a black racist klansman who wants to change the constitution to be more 'redistributive' about to take office?

This is worse than any threat by some supposed klansman.

You will never have free speech (or a 401K) again!

  2. Oh yeah you are also "you are a pathetic, ignorant scum of the earth who deserves nothing short of deportation and a slow, painful death."

  3. Thank you for that head start. It does save time.

McClintock is a fiscal conservative. They don't perfectly see eye to eye, however, the dollar is in dire straights and as opposed to McClintock's opponent, Ron Paul is trying to save the country. If he succeeds you should be grateful; if he doesn't, you'll know you should have helped.

But if we start holding the strays that wander into candidates' campaigns against them, we'd have to go back to that early endorsement of Obama by Hamas, etc. Just because someone likes you better than the other guy doesn't mean you like them back.

  4. Where's the humor? All I read was bitterness.

Was Dylan supporting Rudy in the primaries?

When Neocon liberals like Dylan start with the "OMG TEH K-K-KLAN" nonsense, we know that's just neocon code for "protect mother Israel from all other nationalists."

  5. "McClintock is a fiscal conservative."

That's rich. He is just another cut and spend "conservative". Like the rest of the GOP he's all about cutting taxes and never says were he is going to make up for the budget short fall by actually cutting a program.

  6. Neocon liberals? What the hell is a neocon liberal?

  7. You'd think a blogger on Comedy Central's Indecision 2008 site would at least be funny.

  8. Go to Google and type in "KKK endorses" – you will see results like "KKK endorses Obama" "KKK endorses John McCain" "KKK endorses Biden"

So lets write a bunch of stupid articles about their "endorsements" and let them effect our political judgments.

    Fact: The KKK is evil.
Fiction: We should care about what the KKK believe politically.

    Give me a break.

  9. As a Republican non-Paultard, I found this article HIGHLY entertaining. And yes, in 2003 the KKK California (or should I say Kalifornia) chapter endorsed Tom McClintock. Instead of refuting the endorsement like most respectable candidates would, Tom kept his mouth shut. Why? Because Tom McClintock never met a donor he didn't like.

I would have supported any other Republican, but with McClintock in the race my vote goes with Brown. We need a Congressman who hasn't lost his sanity, and the Venturian Candidate McClintock lost his mind a long long time ago.

By the way, I'm probably the only person posting comments here who actually LIVES in-district.
