John McCain Would Like to Place an Order for 4,000 Supporters… For Delivery, Yes

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to disagree with my esteemed colleague, Mr. Cordova, regarding John McCain's supposed inability to get young people to attend his events.

On the contrary, he has no trouble at all. When he needs young people, he just has them bused in

A local school district official confirmed after the event that of the 6,000 people estimated by the fire marshal to be in attendance this morning, more than 4,000 were bused in from schools in the area.

The entire 2,500-student Defiance School District was in attendance, the official said, in addition to at least three other schools from neighboring districts, one of which sent 14 buses.

Take that, Gonzalo! Can't you just feel the McCain Fever right through that pull quote? No problem with kids, or humans, at all.

However, he does seem to be having a slight problem with plumbers…

"Where is Joe? Is Joe here with us today?" That's the question John McCain asked roughly 6,000 people at Defiance Junior High School here this morning, But the correct answer was no — Joe the Plumber was nowhere to be found.

There are conflicting reports about where or when or if Joe will appear with McCain at some point during his two-day bus tour of Ohio, but the candidate clearly thought that he was meeting him here in Defiance, the first stop on the tour.

To be fair, Joe the Plumber was probably busy drinking whiskey and crashing his pick-up in preparation for his new career.

  1. The U.S. Government has nationalized…the mortgage industry(Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA), the insurance industry (AIG), securities companies, Banking (Indy Mac takeover, etc…direct money injections), and NOW discussions are taking place about buying part of GM. And Republicans think George Bush isn't a Socialist??! UNFRICKINGBELIEVEABLE!!!!

By the way the $700 B bailout…dont believe the hype. Do the math the Tresury Secretary actually has commited over $1.2 TRILLION dollars so far to the bailout! And its STILL COUNTING!

  2. Feed 'em pizza for lunch and give them the day off, and 2500 students would happily (well, maybe not happily) pretend enthusiasm for a political speech delivered by Admiral Stockdale.

  3. There was an old man who lived in his head.
"Where's Joe the Plumber?" is all that he said
Then gazing, eyes-glazing, with hope in the skids,
Said "Uh…Joe the Plumber is all of you kids!"
Grinning, he added, "Now, un-plug a toilet"
(They all rushed toward him… There's more, I won't spoil it.)
