Tina Fey and John McCain Join Forces to Sell You Puns on Saturday Night Live
As John McCain points out, he can't afford a half hour special, but luckily the liberal media let him book two segments on Saturday Night Live.
It was nice that Tina Fey was willing to be on stage for a solid five minutes with McCain after not even looking Sarah Palin in the eye two weeks ago.
I think I'm going to invest in McCain Fine Gold until the economy gets back on track, myself.
After the fold, John McCain explains that his new campaign strategy for the last three days will be the "Double Maverick," which sounds like something this guy made up.

I'm sorry everyone but Wanda has forgotten to take her medication. Clearly she's delusional since she's totally blocked out the last 8 years of idiocy.
Who's kicking themselves in the ass? Most republicans that I know won't even admit that they voted dubya in the second time around.
Anyone who thinks that "so and so" getting into office will destroy our country is about as intelligent as Wanda. George did a pretty good job of messing things up over these 8 years but we're still here. So stop boo-hooing about the coming apocalypse that will follow Obama… 'cause it ain't gonna happen! Even if McBush does wind up winning it won't be the end of the world, despite how mediocre of a president he'd probably make.
A president is only as good as the people that he surrounds himself with. I think most of us have seen how efficiently Obama and company have run their campaign as compared to the mess that is McBush's bid and have ascertained that if the Obama camp can run this country even half as good as their election, we're on the right path.
Wanda, it's time to take your meds.
WHAT Dee, you say Obama deserves to win? Why?
Barack Obama has never been in one place long enough to make a real difference, or to fight the hard fights. He was a community activist for a few years, then a law student, then in private practice for not too long, then a state senator for not too long, then a United States Senator for not too long. The paint was barely dry in his Senate office when he began running for President. Barack Obama's career is a series of not-too-long positions, each one more grand than the one before it.
John McCain is the real thing. He's not polished. His ties don't quite fit. He is smart, but he didn't have good grades because he couldn't sit still in class. His clients don't have a lot of money. And sometimes his syntax is not quite right.
But John McCain is a scrappy fighter. He's the opponent who just won't quit even when things look bleak. The guy who runs circles around the Harvard lawyers, who takes the seemingly impossible case, and through sheer determination brings home the verdict. He is the guy you want on your side in good times, and more importantly, in bad times. If I were on trial for my life, I would hire John McCain as my lawyer.
And John McCain sticks around long enough to make a difference. He had a distinguished 22-year career in the Navy. He could have left the Hanoi Hilton early, but he didn't. I don't know if I would have had the strength to say no to early release from a prisoner of war camp, but John McCain did have that strength.
John McCain carried his fight to the United States Senate, where for over two decades he has fought battle after battle with both political parties on some of the hardest issues confronting the nation. John McCain put country before career in supporting the surge in Iraq. On some of these issues I have agreed with John McCain, and on others not. But what is important to me is that John McCain has proven over time that he is his own man. What you see is what you get, and he will be there for the long haul.
Barack Obama also reminds me of many lawyers I have dealt with in my career. He's the smooth talking lawyer on TV who will get you "the settlement you deserve." But he has no credibility where it counts because he hasn't beaten the insurance companies at trial. He is a paper lawyer who fools only his own clients. So Barack Obama can promise "tough diplomacy" with the likes of Iran, but he hasn't fought the tough fights that would cause dictators and tyrants to take him seriously.
Barack Obama also is the deep thinker who ponders great things. And the thing that Barack Obama seems to ponder most is his own greatness. He doesn't write biographies, he writes only autobiographies. He gives speeches which he declares to be historic. He recognizes his place in history long before he has created history. This nation is but a stage upon which Barack Obama creates his life story, and it's all about him.
I understand the pluses and minuses of both candidates and I understand why people would vote for or against one, or even make a stand with a third party candidate . . . the good news is, it won't be Bush any more! A year ago I was excited at the thought of a McCain/Obama general election, and I still am. And I don't particularly like either one as president — untested smooth-talking Obama, curmudgeon stuck-in-his-ways always-a-step-behind McCain — neither one stands for what I believe in. But it's still better than Bush!
"Sad Grandpa" is exactly what John McCain represents – his portrayal, while funny, was painfully true. SNL captured his Reverse Maverick flipflopping perfectly. John's a great guy who has been Karl Roved to death by his handlers – it's too bad. I am praying that Barack wins on Tuesday to give this country a new start and regain its respect in the world view.
Obama is the right man for the job of presidency and soon all the Republicans can just get over it! I am sick to death with all these yankin idiot Republicans that have no clue to the fact that our country is in such a mess because of their ignorance to the facts!
The United States has become a sad country since the Bushwackers have gotten ito office. Thank Goodness soon it will be "over" and we will not have to see another jackass Mavrick, whatever the heck thats all about!
Dear Vince Novemember:
Hey, I liked your very articulate, correct and mature McCain piece so much, that I'm going to feature it on my shabby blog, all the way from Melbourne Australia. Thankyou. colonelrobertneville blogspot com
Colonel Neville.
Vince and Australian chap… John McCain is unqualified to be president. Or as they say in sensible Australian homes, he's un-koala-fied.
Hear that? It's the sound of the world transforming.
"… You better start swimmin' or you'll sink like a stone – For the times they are a-changin'."
Buh bye, Bush. Buh bye Mc Cain.
Don't let the screen door hitchya.

Hey Vince – I am an Obama supporter but I just wanted to comment about your McCain/Obama piece. Thanks!
Too often the debate become uncivil and accusations are traded rather than substance. Your piece was respectful and well written. I will even cede some ground to you on afew points.
No, it doesn't change my vote but it's refreshing to read a civil piece that tries to do some good.
