Mitt Romney Launches 2012 Campaign
Mitt Romney has always been a man of restraint. As a Mormon, he is required to abstain from alcohol, nicotine and caffeine. He appears to have never had an affair. And when dying his hair, he's always had the good sense to stop just above his temples.
Now Mitt can add another point to his "restraint" column. He waited nearly 16 hours to begin his 2012 presidential campaign.
By midday Wednesday, the AP was reporting that Romney had restarted his political action committee. Meanwhile, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson writes that Romney "is laying the groundwork for 2012," and some either highly zealous or highly sarcastic fans have launched a Mitt '12 website.
Romney's half-day of restraint shines when you compare him to Sarah Palin, who went "rogue" in the waning days of the campaign. And it certainly trumps the behavior of that guy who spent $42 million in the GOP primary and lied about his father marching with Martin Luther King.
Oh wait. That was Romney.

Tebt – The word of God is flawless – that is, the Holy Bible – not crazy books added by cults. Jesus came to redeem us from the law, because no matter how perfect the orthodox were, they still fell short – look it up
Ron – the same scenario of having died before Jesus' life/death/resurrection exists for the old testament icons like Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Joshua, David, etc – the new testament speaks to Jesus rescuing those heroes of our faith, from Abraham's bosom in Sheol as part of his conquering sin and death. I cannot explain for sure what will happen to Asian ancestors for example, because the bible does not mention it; but I am certain that noone else can make a confession of faith for them – you have to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord to be saved.
I find it absolutely hilarious -anyone else? – that someone named or nicknamed "Liberty" rants about how others should shut up. I love America, and will not shut up until I decide to be quiet.
Punditphilla-That was a GREAT Karl Marx impression. However, Mitt Romney bought and turned around dying U.S. businesses. Those jobs were going bye bye. He saved them. Look at his life. He used his own money to run for President. NO ONE ELSE this year did.
Further, look at your news today. Deutebank anyalysts are saying GM is going to go bankrupt. Mitt Romney's Dad turned around the Auto Industry in his day, and we certainly need to retool and turn around ours now or it will be lights out for Ford and GM. We need to lower the Corporate Tax Rate NOW and allow GM and FORD to stay competitive so they can employ more Americans. If we blame all of the successful Corporations and Enterprenuers for our woes and penalize them with Obama's new taxes, we will be hurting our own employer base and unemployment will rise even faster than it is now. Perhaps you have heard the addage "Don't bite the hand that feeds you."
Lisa-Yes, you are correct that Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Joseph and the other Hebrew or Jewish Prophets were not listed in the Bible as being baptized. David was a murderer and Adulterer. Jesus said "Not everyone who says Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that DOETH the will of my FATHER who is in Heaven." In the words of Christ, it is NOT ENOUGH to simply believe in your heart and confess with your mouth, you must DO with your actions. The whole reason for a Savior was so that the original sin of Adam and Eve could be overcome. By Adam, came death into the world, and even so by Christ came the resurrection and redemption from the death. See 1 Cor. 15. Christ reconciles the children of Adam and Eve from the Fall ONLY upon the terms of his NEW COVENANT (and you are right in my opinion that the Old Covenant or LAW OF SACRIFICE could save no one). The NEW COVENANT is to offer for a sacrifice, not a ram or bullock, but a broken heart and a contrite spirit. BUT, in order for the purpose of the Atonement to be met, Adam's posterity must conquer and overcome ALL of their sin. No unclean thing can enter into the presence of the Father. Christ provides us with forgiveness and mercy until we finally are able to be obedient and overcome sin. If we never, ever, finally overcame ors sins, but just are saved by Christ's mercy while still in our sins, then what was the purpose of Christ's commandments? "If ye love me, keep my commandments". They were not suggestions, they were the very laws that Jesus himself lives by. In order to be in God's presence we must live by them too. It may take eons to do it, but eventually we must overcome our sins by our own agency. Christ's mercy just gives us the chance to keep trying until we do. Just saying "I believe Christ is my personal Savior, while breaking his commandments strikes me as quite Pharasee like. Christ did not like hypocrits very much as I recall. The Prophets are saved because the follow the commandments. Remember Christ's question about the two sons, the father asked the first one to go and do something and he replied, I will, but he did not do it. The second at first refused, but latter changed his mind and went and obeyed. Christ asked "which of these was righteous and loved his father? The answer was the one who obeyed. Child Molesters and Murderers who confessed were allowed to be buried in early Church cemetaries, while innocent little children who died prior to being baptized were condemned to Hell. That is NOT my God, it may be your God, but it is NOT my God. If your Church has no provision for ALL of the dead, not just Abraham, Issac and Jacob then it is a biased and unfair God you worship. Christ and his father are neither of these.
Let's not do Mormon *theology* here, okay? Decidedly not funny.
Forget the Mormon thing people. Can't we just agree that Mitt Romney is a douche in his own right?
I would agree if everyone else would agree. Dylan makes a big deal about it in his article here. This anti-rightwing journalist cannot debate Mitt on his politics so he bashes his religion. The whole first paragraph of this article is mockery. I was responding a couple of religious bigots who were ignorantly bashing Mitt Romney's religion. I agree lets keep this fine man's religion out of this debate and talk about him.
hey you goofballs that say mormons are cults…,every religious organization is a cult according to our dictionary.Get over it ! we have lots of Mormons holding Major positions in the government now and for a long time in major cities and in Washington. So what ? Our country should be so lucky to have a Mormon President .!They are People who try harder than the rest of us to not drink, smoke ,do drugs or over do on caffeine. As a result they have well organized minds, high ethic standards and most inventors of the major facilities we have in this country were created and designed by Mormons. We would be back in the 1930's if it weren"t for the technological advances of the Mormons,in fact if you realized the truth, you would have egg on your face Get over your goofy ,weak excuses !
George Romney marched in several civil rights marches, and there's at least one historical book that say's George Romney marched with Martin Luther King. Reporters view that as not enough evidence, because nobody can find a news paper report, but even if that book is wrong, it's hardly Mitt Romney's fault, and calling that a lie is absurd.
