Election Day

We know that November 3, 2009 isn't a real Election Day. But still, we can all pretend. Right? Take a look at these six elections and let us know how much you care.

Bill O'Reilly on The Daily Show: UNCUT!

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

I know what you're thinking. That Bill O'Reilly clip from The Daily Show came oh so close to fulfilling my recommended daily intake of douchebaggery, but it just wasn't quite enough. And I really don't want to have to go dig up a clip of Sean Hannity on YouTube this close to the weekend.

Well, fret no more. Because here's an uncut version of Bill O and Jon S's conversation from last night…

  1. Did not realise that the 'centre-right' is for stoning people to death….. Wow..

  2. O'Reily cannot help but to be an ass everytime he opens his mouth

  3. If Barack Obama ran the "best campaign" Bill "has ever seen", logically, that should be reassurance for the type of governance to expect from him. Someone who was well organized, well educated, thoughtful, articulate, and expert on the constitution, with its limits to power, and protection of citizens' rights, was the obvious choice for this election.

  5. I have to admit that Bill O gained a few points with me. Both Jon and Bill showed a level of respect and humor without compromise of their views. Very entertaining. Open honest debate is what we center right/Center left want. We see through the propaganda of both sides trying to shift where center "falls" on the spectrum. What this one "center" would like to see is more focus toward a centrist vision as opposed to a focus on the extremes (outward) – pushing together toward a center goal rather than a tug of war toward the extremes. Jon, Give us more of this! It does sell. Great job!

  6. It was a good thing to see some fairly sensible discussion that almost went somewhere in explaining the difference of opinion in a nuanced way. It's a hopeful start to the discourse the US should have with itself to repair the political fissures in the years to come. A bit dissapointed at the lack of whoopass on Bill, though. As an impartial bystander (Norwegian) it's sad to see how the uninformed run amoc in the US, especially on the right. Bill is obviously a lightningrod for this and it should'nt be that hard to nail his ignorant ass to the wall once and for all. More edge next time, Jon.

  7. hey O'Reilly- There are many Alabamaians who love Jon and are for a secular progressive society

  8. I personally would've liked to have seen Jon hold O'Reilly's feet to the fire too, simply because I find O'Reilly's holier-than-thou attitude and complete ignorance rather intolerable. However, I would like to say that I think Jon did the right thing by keeping the debate friendly and relaxed, thus providing an example of how future public discourse between individuals/groups of opposing opinions should conduct themselves. Plus, by letting Papa Bear feel 'safe' to discuss his opinions, Jon allowed him to hang himself quite nicely. I find it quite telling that secular progressives are to be feared, but yet, he has no problem with the 'stoning' he was sure Jon would receive were he to venture among those southerners who consider themselves to fall to the center-right? In one fell swoop, O'Reilly effectively insulted very nearly everybody without even realizing it. Of course, those loyal to his brand of blanket intolerance probably won't even realize that he insulted his own followers as well as those menacing secular progressives. LOL

  10. I am from Texas and I have seen the absolute fear generated by O'Reilly and the fear mongering army of Faux news thugs.

My own mother who used to be a pretty understanding and free thinking woman moved in with her boyfriend who keeps Fox News on constantly. Now my mother is afraid of Barack Obama and "what he will do to our country". When I asked her why she started spouting off things like: "He get's his money from foreign people for his campaign" which is not true and which was reported on by fox news and also "Black people are going to go crazy if he gets elected". This comment really got me because of what my mother used to be like and what she is like now after about a year of steady brainwashing by fox news propaganda.

Fox news turned my mom into a right-wing, racist, nut-job.
