Jon Stewart Is Going to Miss President Bush
Still President Bush tells Charlie Gibson that charity work is an interesting retirement choice he's not going to do. He also says he never campaigned on a promise to handle a terrorist attack. With Bush's classic fumbles and lies, he just keeps pulling Jon back in.
And this is just the first of his exit interviews. Can you stand to watch any more?

Please, young folk, listen to everything that's going on before you make up your minds. It's too easy for people who are angry to jump to a conclusion before they've considered all the evidence.
Bloggers who use the internet as just an opportunity to spit out whatever anger or frustration they feel are like college students sounding off to their college newspapers. They add nothing to the interchange of ideas, and bring nothing to to the public forum about current events.
I have ignored the blogosphere for years because so many contributors are uninformed, illiterate or ignore any facts that interfere with their idealogies or prejudices. It's all too easy to toss off top-of-the-head opinions, but it's not a responsible use of internet communication and it's a waste of many people's time. Now I'm beginning to stand up in protest.
A new day has dawned, and we now have the option to make real change in our country — not just in government. Instead of badmouthing anyone whose words do not please us, let us work together to learn what we can do to make changes, and do it. Blogs and comments could make a real contribution to our interchange of ideas if they were thoughtful and engaging.
Mark Twain said, "Anyone who doesn't read the newspapers is uninformed. Anyone who does read the newspapers is misinformed." Let us learn the facts and think for ourselves.
I'm 67, a writer, poet, cook, artist, gardener, pianist; retired after a modestly successful career as author of books; magazine writer and editor, and journalist. I have not achieved the literary success I had always hoped for, but I have had my say-so. I hope that anyone who reads this may be inspired to pursue his or her dream and be happy with whatever success he/she achieves. Personal fulfillment is not all about income.
Best to everyone out there in cyberspace.
Well, he's not smarter than a fifth grader.
Well he's not smarter that a fifth grader.
It's funny that the W kool drinkers, think showing W in his own words on tape as hate.
It's called reality, your hero can't speak in coherent sentences, deal with it.
Sharazz, thanks for your opinion but unfortunately any hope of us all sitting down and singing kumbaya is greatly unfounded, Hope (TM) and Change (R) notwithstanding. "Responsible" Internet communication is a laughable concept. You can't tame the ocean; neither can you tame the Internet.
Where is that party going to be. I want to be there. Bush Be Gone. BBG party.
It looks like Bush is feeling his unpopularity for the first time. It appears the swagger and the arrogant smirking are gone. When he blames the economic problems on decisions made "over a decade ago", he is absolutely correct. Too much license for the financial industry did get a boost with Reagan's and his father's administrations, and in a way this Bush did inherit those bad policies. But he championed those very licenses throughout his administration and has pardoned many of those who were found guilty of such theft in the past. So he looks pitiful in the end. And at least he finally knows not to be so happy and proud.

I'm gonna miss Jon's Bush impressions.
I was on a flight from New York back to London in November 2000. At a certain point the co-pilot came over the tannoy to announce that Fox had called the election for BUsh. The woman in the seat in front of me punched the air and said "yes!" I tapped her on the shoulder and when she turned round I said, "You know, this is going to have disastrous consequences…"
What concerned me was two-fold. Bush was basically unfit to hold the office by any measure and without the family name would never had the chance, but also I had seen how incompetent Cheney had been as CEO of Halliburton, yet people felt he could provide the gravitas and intellect Bush lacked.
I could never have imagined just how bad it would be. God bless America, yes, but also God help America. It is going to take a long time to clean up this mess.
I'm really becoming sick of Jim December's vitriol. Criticism of Stewart is fine, but Jim's hatred and hostility is killing my potential humor.
I think Jim needs to be reminded what Jon has often stated over the last 8 years, "We wish we made this stuff up!" If not for The Daily Show and their great work the last 8 years we would all be crazy by now.
