I'm a Denver Bronco's fan with two degrees from the U. The Broncos sucked this year and will continue to suck for the foreseeable future. Two of my alternate pro football teams (Colts and Giants) have been eliminated in the playoffs thus far and the third (Arizona) probably won't survive this weekend. Basically, I'm running out of things rage about. The BCS and bowl system in general are easy targets. But I would argue that the bowl system in general exists because it generates a huge pot of money, not because of rankings or student athletes. If it didn't there wouldn't be 34 different bowl games if only 5 of them “really matter”. What the BCS does is protect the 5 that "really matter" and their slice of the money pie from everyone else. In sports, pro or college, its always about the money. Actually I'm not much of a college sports fan. I'm a Denver Bronco's fan with two degrees from the U.

Bottom line: If the Bowl System is truly wonderful, every league in every sport would want one. Until there is a playoff, who is #1 will always be disputed.
