Lincoln Memorable

Since Glenn Beck's 8/28 Rally was such a huge success, does that mean he's now a greater man than Martin Luther King. Or just as great?

  1. Remember! You know them by what they do, not by what they say. Time will tell, but for now, let us all enjoy the appearance of change. Real change can only come if we hold those accountable for treason, war crimes and crimes against humanity. If we don't, those that will come next will do far worse. There can be no change without holding those accountable that have committed the atrocities against, not only foreign nations, but our very own citizens!

  2. Oh, Jim January, I soooooooooooooo wish I didn't agree with you. It would have been kinda nice to have at least a coupla weeks/months to pretend this was more than the donning of a freshly-laundered sock puppet on the unseen hand that really rules our land.

Sadly, bad signs abound already: The media repetition of the code phrase "Looking forward, not back" (i.e. "Hold who accountable? Prosecute what crimes?) & the choice to retain GWB's Defense Sec'y Gates who, golly-gee-what-are-the-odds? just happens to have been named Obama's designated successor if anything should go horribly awry during the inaugural today. Y'all do remember voting for Bob Gates to be President-elect of the United States, don't you?

The more things change, the more they stay the same :(

  3. Man am I glad I saw this. We were going to watch the same 'ol network coverage at work. I am now going to (covertly) switch our Internet feed to the Twitter/Liveblogging coverage you guys provide. Not only will it be less biased… but quieter.

  4. On Inaguration day, I'd recommend that everyone listen to the Who classic "Won't Get Fooled Again." Pay particular attention to the poignant lyric "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

Sorry to burst your bubble, but we just picked a democratic stooge over a republican stooge. Get ready for another four years of big government bullshit.

  5. Sunday afternoon I will be drinking heavily. Not because I’m celebrating Obama’s Presidency but because its my daughter’s birthday. A house full of hyper 3 year-olds and family. Crap!
