The Daily Show: John Oliver Blames Barack Obama for Winter
For eight long days, America has paid the price of Barack Obama's failed policies, leading John Oliver to wonder when enough is enough.
What's your review of Obama's first eight days in office?
PERMALINK:

After all the chopping and dicing of what he was originally trying to do, I'd say he's doing pretty good. And by the way, keep up the good work, your show helps bring us back to reality after watching that TV sitcom they call CNN.(It's like Stephen Colbert on steriods! CNN that is.)
It is so refreshing to come home every day after work and learn of President Obama's humane, intelligent, caring decisions. At long last! Plus a President who voices the feelings and outrage of America as in his anger over the huge CEO bonuses on Wall Street. Every day I can't wait to see what he will do next.
It was a great first week, quite a shift from the past 8 yrs. Having said that, I think the Obama admin will focus on improving the image or perception of U.S around the world. Not too sure that will actually translate into change in foreign policy of waging wars in the Middle East, Afghanistan, Pakistan..

I think Obama looks really good right now.
Any decent president would do what he has already done. But a great one will go beyond just fixing what BUsh did.
We are the richest country in the world.
we need:
- Free healthcare
- repel the taft harley act
- get corporations out of washington
- open the TV debates to more parties
- End free markets
I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that he gave his very first interview to an arab TV-station, closed Gitmo and sent his expert to the middle-east right away – telling him to start with listening instead of dictating.
How courageous and cool is that? With all the economic problems we are facing, to give give peace, freedom & respect the first priority…
It gives me a lot of hope for the US and world-politics.
Thank you Barak Hussein and thank you Jon for what you are doing for democracy. The daily show is the only TV show I'm watching regularly – wish we had something similar in Germany.
I think the economic stimulus plan has turned out to be incredibly f'd up, and the Daily Show continues to be completely biased (read: only makes fun of Republicans). Why can't the show criticize the unbelievable amounts of pork and waste in the bill? Oh, yeah, because the show has a liberal audience. I thought Obama's presidency would be a new age, including putting a stop to wasteful and harmful spending. But unfortunately, the Democrat-controlled government can and will get its way, and will bankrupt our country with all the expensive pet projects and catering to Democrats' local base, rather than effective and targeted stimulus. Sigh
Excuse me, David, but the Republicans are proving, right now, that they are totally bought and paid for- and not on the side of the people by any stretch.
Go away. This is a liberal site which means that we are aware of a thing called the social contract and are interested in getting a better deal for the people. Republicans talk about "smaller government." It's all talk- bullshit. They were the first ones to sign on to bail out Wallstreet and now they want to nay-say Obama's stimulus package. Fuck those Judases!
Sorry Suzy, but I think Republicans who say "wait a second, I'm not voting for this bill because so many taxpayer dollars are wastefully spent on Democrats' pet projects that will have no significant impact on the economy" are actually a lot more thoughtful than Democratic congressmen eager to exert their newfound power for selfish re-election purposes. Yes, this is a liberal site, but guess what? Half of me is liberal (the social side). And I like the Daily Show and laugh my ass off, but I really dislike how they only make fun of one side, because both Republicans and Democrats should be made fun of for their idiocy, and both have good points as well. It really is a shame that liberals like you are so closed-minded. Anyways, I like Obama (and better than McCain for his personality and smarts), but I have my reservations (socialism, enlarging/bankrupting our government, etc.).
He's not being fair! I think we should give him 16 days to prove himself. 21 tops.
