The Real Reason Why Bobby Jindal's Speech Sucked
Aha! Maybe the massive disaster on Tuesday night wasn't Bobby Jindal's fault, at least not entirely.
As WAFB in Baton Rouge reports, live microphones picked up some conversation before the televised speech began. Jindal complained that he wasn't feeling well, his throat hurt, wah wah wah, just wait till you start running for president for real, buster. Then he got some last-minute coaching from an adviser…
In the room with Jindal at the time were his wife, Chief of Staff Timmy Teeple, and Jindal's friend and political consultant Brad Todd, his office said Wednesday. It is believed Jindal is speaking with Todd when the governor asks how he should deliver the speech. "Loud voice, soft voice?" Jindal asks. "Conversational," is the only response that can be clearly heard from the man Jindal is speaking with.
Jindal must have misheard this instruction as "condescending," which would explain why he went on to deliver his speech as if he were speaking to a particularly stupid group of four-year-olds.
Well, either that or Bobby Jindal is just a condescending jerk.
I don't think it worked. I was so busy laughing that THIS was the guy the Republicans had been talking up. The ANSWER to Barack Obama. The next generation of Republican LEADERSHIP.
Alrighty then.
