Nate Silver shows that once you adjust for the incredibly high — 96 percent! — of the black vote that Barack Obama won on November 4th, the voter turn-out map isn't nearly as pretty a shade of blue as we thought it was…
Does this mean that us white people have to stop being so self-congratulatory about how post-racial we are all of a sudden?

You’d still have to look at population total population of the state (not county map) to get a better handle on what the electoral “white” map would look like.
I think the “Appalachia” map is more interesting.
But on the map you linked. Look at NM and CO. Those are both quite a bit bluer than you’d expect.
