Stephen Colbert Interviews Congressman Dan Maffei, Evil Congressman Dan Maffei
For every upstanding congressman who loves his district and never toes the party line, there's an evil doppelganger who loves cocaine, enjoys the company of prostitutes, and has to think for a minute before forming an opinion on NAMBLA.

What an idiot Maffei is. First he votes to give AIG executives multi-million dollar bonuses, but claims he didn't read the bill well enough. Maffei then offers to give pedophile NAMBLA possible support until Colbert had to tell him several times it was a pedophile organization before Maffei changed his mind. Maffei then puts on a Vladimer Lenin, Bolshevik type beard, calls himself an "evil twin" and then says he likes cocaine, the company of prostitutes and repressing women. Which of these Maffei mishaps was the joke and which was real? The real joke is that Maffei is a joke. The sad part is that he is in Congress. Well, we had a stooge Bush for president, so why not a village idiot for congress like Maffei.
I loved the callback to Congressman Wexler's interview. "I enjoy cocaine because…"

I TOTALLY give that Congressman über-props! I can't think of another single Congressman that, regardless of how good natured she/he may be, would follow along Colbert through all that. Pure awesome, IMHO.
yeah, I think that makes him a cool guy. When you're put on the colbert report it's tough to find the line between looking like a douche and looking like an idiot. You could tell he was passionate about being a congress member but was cool at the same time. Congrats congressman.
