Excuse Me Your Dick (Cheney) Is Out
It seems like former Vice President Dick Cheney has been on TV more this year than he was the entire eight years he was in office. And that's fine, more power to him. But I hope it's just a temporary thing, because he's got work to do. Out damsels are not going to tie themselves to train-tracks.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

Cheney: We're not the torturers you're looking for.
Schieffer: You're not the torturers we're looking for.
Cheney: We can go about our business.
Schieffer: You can go about your business.
and PS: Heard Jesse Ventura on the radio today. He says he was waterboarded when he was in training, and to just give him a waterboard and Cheney alone in a room, and he'll have him confessing to the Manson murders.
Exactly what is Hannity waiting for? Let Jesse waterboard him, and see how long he lasts….
Oy Vey with the Quacking and justifying his way through some sort of Blagovian sales pitch of his intentions, in the court of publc appeal, the ever chattering media.
While the short term thinkers blather on from the left and the right about fellow Cali girl Prejean's right to free speech (or let's make her famous Perez Hilton's), Chicken Hawk Cheney is still justifying the right to use torture.
How will that sit, with our brave men and women who serve, and have to suffer at the hands of those who flout our treaties with other countries?
Where is the trust?
Some nefarious moral argument, about how you're "protecting" us, is just more BS, like the lies you told about WMDs, to scare your way to funding your oil war. Gee, your oil and war profiteer buddies made out like bandits.
The American People, the American Taxpayer, and the American Soldier, not so much.
From threatening our security by emboldening Al Quada and letting run rampant to Pakistan while you siphoned off funds for your Iraq War (including those not in the budget and god know what other secret ways of funding you found, cough, banks like Abu Dhabi's Citi, to burning through not just our surplus, but also the massive debt we have to spend our way out of.
Now you're draping yourself in vet's blood as you screw them yet again. Was sending them out without proper body armor, or not enough troops to really do the job, either in Afghanistan, or Iraq, not enough?
Now you're going to publicly defend torture?
Even John McCain gets my respect, for serving his country valiantly, and going against toture (although, not really enough to unseat the one who gave him his marching orders as they were doing it).
So, if Pelosi is guilty of turning a blind eye, then so is John McCain, who came out against it, yet didn't do much to stop it either.
Face it, we all knew Cheney was doing this, pretty much, as he would say.
It's just that, the Bush Adminstration, or should we say Cheney Administration, were so all powerful, so immune to any question or prosecution, that they literally got away, with murder.
And please don't insult our intelligence, to pretend that Pelosi had anything to do with it. She was duped just as the rest of us were duped. Just like she was duped on TARP. What is it about Democrats that just say "okay" and trust what the hell Bush said, all during those years?????
Was it his poll numbers, during the 9/11 wave of the "Mission Accomplished" Jock Strap tour? When nobody dared say boo about Bush and his successful carrying out, of invading a country that didn't attack us?
That certainly doesn't stop Cheney, or the endless tearing down of a new president during wartime, on Fox. They didn't even wait two weeks before they started attacking Obama.
Well, some knew the score, and suspected as much from Cheney, but who ever will truly know what dark path he took, in his secret bunker of Vice Presidentship, scheming and plotting his way through every from Halliburton being connected to the Russian Mob, to secret energy meetings and authorized gouging of the consumers and citizenry, letting monopoly run rampant, and lawless market practices that not only manipulated the market, but also turned a blind eye to crooks and chicanery.
Please, Cheney, for your own sake. STFU. You will be prosecuted, someday, for war crimes. The more you say, the more will be held against you.
Atually, perhaps I should be saying – keep talking. We'll need it for the national archives, on corruption.
For now, let's do what Cheney is still trying so desperately, to prevent. Move our country toward energy independence, so all their thievery and scheming to get their hands on Caspian Sea Oil will be dark page we've turned, as we buy our own domestic oil during a quaint visit to the gas station for old time's sake, or during our road trips when we need a backup fuel for our plug in hybrid.
The sad reality is he will get his face-time. We were cornholed by the Master for the last eight years and now he gets to gloat about it. Nothing Dick does is happenstance. It is calculated and refined to do one thing – continue to hold the reins of power. He has honed his skills for the last 40 years. I consider him one of the most dangerous men alive.
Still arrogant, still thinking he's above the law, and still out for himself, over his country. From his Halliburton Golden Parachute, to untold scandals he's skirted and avoided while flouting our laws, our values, and our treaties.
From fake out Anthrax scares that originated within our own Defense Dept., and sent Congress out on the lawn to deliberate and invevitably ram through being able to spy on American Citizens (which he'd been frothing to do since WAAAAY before 9/11), to the scientist involved in the anthrax debacle turning up dead and other nefarious and dark things we don't even know about.
Not to mention the secret energy deals, the war cooked up for oil, the lies about WMDs, and even treason – outing our own CIA. Nothing seems to phase him, and he appears to be getting away with it all. I used to think…ah, we have bigger fish to fry so let's just look forward and not worry about prosecuting his butt, but he just won't go away quietly. At least Bush seems to have at least that much class and respect for the new president and his first few months in office.
Cheney seems to be just flipping the bird at the American People who booted him out in the first place. He just won't stop rubbing it in our noses, that he dragged our good name through the dirt by advocating – and now defending – torture, that even John McCain says, doesn't work.
And what kind of Bull is it, to say "oh, we did this to our own people" ? Wasn't that during some horrific training, because they were having it done to them? What kind of horror do our men and women in uniform face now, because of Cheney's Chicken Hawk BS? He's never put himself on the front lines, never served in combat, or even in uniform, yet he is arrogant enough to take a stand for torture, and put all our soldiers at risk?
That he thinks Oxycontin blowhard and fellow Chicken Hawk who never served Limbaugh is more worthy than a decorated war hero, like Colin Powell, is just laughable.
Obama, stop being so damn nice to the arrogant crooks, who stole from the people and put us in harm's way, like Cheney and his oil war we paid for while neglecting the dangers posed in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Stop letting them get away with torture, and murder and highway robbery, like the crooked banks, who took us all for a ride and spent all our money, then got us all to pay for it AGAIN. Then foreclosed on everyone, so they could resell their land or homes yet AGAIN. Not to mention adding insult to injury, by hiking up our interest rates and charging astronomical fees, then whining about their damn bonuses.
Then there's the speculators, who, come to find out, reside in the very same damn banks, like Citi, who drove up our oil prices to obscene levels, until this country's back was broken with the high cost of fuel, and everything else that went up as a result.
When will it end?
What's it going to take, to truly defeat this abject evil, that steals from the American Public. Halliburton was the biggest pig at the govt. trough, when Cheney was at the helm. God only knows how much he shoveled their way, when he was able to write the checks, no-bid, no doubt.
Now Halliburton's headquarters are in Dubai, so they don't have to worry about our pesky laws at all, or be held accountable for their fraud.
How dare Cheney continue to bait us all, continue to flaunt his arrogance in our faces.
And while he's trying to scare us – yet again – with talks of another attack, let's not forget, that 9/11 happened on HIS watch (because let's face it, he was running things, not Bush), even though Clinton's team had warned him of an imminent attack.
Why didn't they listen, to John O'Neill? He was so certain Al Quada was going to attack, he left Bush's FBI in disgust and went to work for the World Trade Center, as head of security. He died there, on 9/11, trying to protect this country. He wasn't some Chicken Hawk Cheney, who never served a damn day, yet is suddenly an expert on why we need torture in this world. John O'Neill was an expert on Al Quada, and didn't need torture to get his info, either. It's all there on PBS/Frontline's "The Man Who Knew."
Just makes my blood boil to see Chicken Hawk Cheney, who has been largely responsible, for running this country not just into a ditch, but a black mark in our history, and see these crooks and liars get away with such chicanery.
From deregulating energy, to banking and making new strides in putting cronies in watchdog positions, and NOT protecting the citizenry against abuse from industry, he and his ilk like Gramm have been trying to dismantle any protrections we had against monopoly and crooks who steal from the masses and create recessions and depressions, just so they can then swoop in and go shopping.
Where were all those teabaggers when Cheney was busy burning through our surplus and echoing Reagan, saying "deficits don't matter."
President Obama, don't fall down that slippery slope, of listening to the BS blather and Orwellian disinformation spewed out on Fox 24/7. The American People, are not dumb. We know we were tricked, duped, and ripped off. From manipulated oil and energy prices, to a war based on lies, while the real war on terror in Afghanistan and Pakistan was thrown over for Iraq.
Maybe we won't deal with Cheney at this delicate time in our economic history, but by golly, we better damn well deal with him at some point, because his arrogance, to continue to flaunt his untouchable status in our face, is really wearing thin.
My only question for Darth Dick is: If you need these memos to vindicate you, why didn't you declassify or at least "leak" them to the press before leaving office?
My guess at the answer: there is more political mileage in saying, Obama refuses to release the memos than there would be in actually having the memos released.
Talked about it yesterday: http://www.dipstickdaily.com. Late tonight I'll be talking about Whigs, Republicans, and I *heart* Huckabee.
