It's never been harder to be a white man in America. We have a black President, there are fewer than 500 of us in Congress, and the number-one movie over the weekend was a cartoon about an Asian-American boy and a cantankerous old lesbian in a flying house. Add to that the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court, and white men are now basically the American equivalent of Native Americans.
