Jon Stewart on Mark Sanford Going Old Testament
The Old Testament is the best. I'd need an extra hand to count all the times I've used it to justify selling my daughters into slavery. Fortunately, I was fighting some dude and my wife touched his genitals, so I actually do have an extra hand. You can even use the Old Testament as an excuse to keep a hypocritical position of excessive power.

actually I have to disagree with you KZT. if you run a platform of conservative values and quote the bible on a regular basis your behavior in and outside of office should reflect that, otherwise you are a hypocrite and untrustworthy. If I was religious I would be offended that someone used my beliefs and religion to get me to vote for them and then it turned out to be lies. Which is why I don't vote along those lines.
Sanford's private life should be just that- private but it's distracting the the public from the real issue- the fact that he went awol for 5 freaking days. This isn't a stoner working in McD's we're talking about- he's a US governor.

why is it that conservative christians pull out the old testament out of their asses when it suits their political needs?
What's annoying about this bit that is Hollywood Jews like Stewart pull their religion out of their asses to make jokes when it suits their comedic needs. Otherwise, Judaism is a footnote in their blighted lives. Blech.
I don't quite understand. Man runs for a public office. As long as things are going his (and constituent's) way, life is good. When he gets caught lying to the public, it's now private! Reminds me of what somebody said — if you want a private life, don't become a movie star.
