Misread the Economy? Joe Biden Doesn't Even Know Her!
Crazy uncle Joe Biden had a case of explosive gaffes during a chat with ABC's George Stephanopoulos this weekend: dude straight-up admitted that he and Barack Obama had no idea the economy was in bad shape, at all, and for that matter they hadn't even been sure there was an "economy" until someone told them, and meanwhile the rest of the country was standing around with helpful printouts explaining this "economy" and how to fix it, but Joe Biden and Barack Obama were sneaking ciggies on the golf course so they didn't pay attention.
Don't believe me? Here it is in his own self-incriminating words…
STEPHANOPOULOS: While we've been here, some pretty grim job numbers back at home — 9.5 percent unemployment in June, the worst numbers in 26 years.
How do you explain that? Because when the president and you all were selling the stimulus package, you predicted at the beginning that, to get this package in place, unemployment will peak at about 8 percent. So, either you misread the economy, or the stimulus package is too slow and too small.
BIDEN: The truth is, we and everyone else misread the economy. The figures we worked off of in January were the consensus figures and most of the blue chip indexes out there. [...] And so the truth is, there was a misreading of just how bad an economy we inherited. Now, that doesn't — I'm not — it's now our responsibility.
Whoa there, Gaffeosaurus Rex, slow down. You're the vice president of the United States of America, remember? You have no business admitting to mistakes and accepting responsibility for problems, like some sort of rational adult.
Prevarication. Look it up.
