John Stossel Jumping on the Fox News Gravy Train

POSTED BY: Dennis DiClaudio

TV Newser has some interesting TV newsiness about everybody's second favorite mustachioed TV news guy: John "The Stash" Stossel is leaving ABC for Fox!

John Stossel, the longtime ABC News correspondent and co-anchor of "20/20," is leaving ABC to join Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network. TVNewser has learned Stossel will host a weekly, one-hour program for the 2-year-old business channel.

He's expected to signed a multi-year deal with Fox which will include regular appearances on Fox News Channel during daytime and primetime. He'll also host four, hour-long specials on Fox News, much like the business/consumer specials he'd hosted for years on ABC.

Stossel's been a guest on The Daily Show twice to date, so, what the hell, let's take a trip down memory lane…

And, for good measure, here's a Sam Bee giving Stossel a much-deserved break…

  1. Jim September,

We'll see. I think it more likely that Fox will make libertarian Stossel into a blithering neocon idiot. I notice he avoids the issue of the Iraq war now that he's on Fox. No more Stossel interviews with Ron Paul. Hukabee here we come.

  2. no… fox has many intelligent commentators. bret baier, chris wallace, geraldo, brit hume. these guys were all network guys before they realized the best opportunity for journalistic freedom was with fox. all the people who left fox went south. poor Kiran Chetry. she coulda been someone! i lot of people are miffed at opinion commentators such as beck and hannity. But i have to say that they announce their view to the world "hey i'm a conservative" without trying to pretend they are middle of the road journalist. I don't know why libs hate Oreilly so much. I've been watching this guy for some time and he seems to be middle of the road. He even gives Obama a fair shake. I think people who don't watch him are the ones that complain about him. Also, fox has higher ratings that the other channels COMBINED. so they are doing something right! CNN has a few decent folks such as Blitzer and Cooper, but MSNBC has no one! i used to like matthews, even though he pretended to be a journalist and not a liberal idealogue. But after the tingle up his leg thing, i lost all respect for him. And oberman? that guy is the worst thing i've ever seen. no wonder his ratings suck.

  3. Well, with Stossel there, FOX will finally have an intelligent commentator.

Hey, why hasn't TDS had Stossel back on the show?
